Necessary info for HW.

Things to keep in mind:

-PS consoles tend to have the longest legs

-X360 and Wii total Software might be undertracked, as VGC has two different numbers for it. Here are the other number: X360: 943 million, Wii: 937 million. However, if we go by these numbers, the PS3 is also at 893 million.

You think the ratio in sales between the 360 and the PS3 will decrease?

Sony REALLY has to cut PS3 price! They have potential to sell well but will they ever get it to $99 or even $150...EVER? They're not even down to $200 for anything but the all but useless 12gb. If they do it could eventually reach 100m but man they may have missed their opportunity keeping it at mainly $250 and for so long.

PS3 - 87 million
360 - 86.5 million
Wii - 101 million

Software is notoriously inaccurate so I won't predict any specific numbers, but I think it may be possible for PS3 and 360 to crack 1 billion. With digital sales I suspect both of them may have already cracked 1 billion. I wonder if either of them will announce reaching this figure, if indeed they do. It will be a shipped software figure I imagine in any official company PR.

No, I rounded up or down because I wasn't sure. The smallest gap would then be 500K assuming the limit for 360 is <86M and PS3 >86.5M.

Even the PS2 was around $150 for a long time after the PS3 came out. It doesn't surprise me that the PS3, which still has games being made for it, and is a good machine (all-in-all) would still be around $250.
