I don't understand why anyone would really want the standard New 3DS.. i think the only plus would be rather more convenient to carry around, but pockets do no good anyway. I fix the problem just by carrying a backpack and putting the 3DS XL in its case..

Well, for me at least, it really has to do with the pixelation of the image do to it being blown up to fit the bigger screen. Given the choice, I'd rather have a cheaper, more portable handheld with a sharper picture and customizable cover plates.
