Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What is wrong with Nintendo's online?

Many things.. but these are a few I wish they could implement to help feel connected to the world rather than feeling like I'm alone..

- Achievement/Trophy system, to compare with other players and your friends.
- Instant Messaging/Voice messaging, so you can message friends and check back quickly without interrupting the game.
- Party Chat w/ friends, to voice chat with friends while playing games even if you're not playing the same game.

This, and the fact you keep getting disconnected on smash for no reason. And although online is so much better after the patch, when the game launched it was atrocious.

Also sales on the eshop are terrible to nonexistent. The psn store has more and better sales in a month than the eshop has all year.

Around the Network

The Wii U eShop has 51 titles on sale right now, some up to 80%... There's sales every week.

Not having a basic account/ownership system is a pretty major fuck up. Like PSN/XBL/Steam etc etc you should be able to log onto any system wit your account, download and play your games.

Not having a proper messaging system is a major fuck up too. The miiverse posting is crap.

THIS as long as Ninty is being silly about this, they will always be behind and not taken seriously. THey are the ONLY ones (im not just talking video games here) that arent keeping up. I still have to enter a stupid 12 digit code to add people. Why? why are they so stubbornly hanging on to friend codes? and the excuse that its free is crap. PSN has been free for years and its always been better than anything Ninty Network related.

How come steam can offer fully functional online for free?

Because PC is an open system, there are competing services and free alternative tools.
They get enough money from the game sales, the costs to provide those services aren't very high.

No party chat. That's been on Xbox 360 since 2005 or 2006 (i don't remember if it was added a little after launch), PS3 hasn't got it neither but at least with the 8th generation Sony has fixed that issue, thing that Nintendo hasn't done.

And many Wii U games such as cod ghost don't even have voice chat, come on not even voice chat? That's a joke.

A codgame in this day and age doesnt have voice chat? I think even the crappy Vita one had voice chat

Monster Hunter 3U has voice chat. Mario Kart 8 has voice chat. Is not Nintendo fault that Ghosts don't have

dont know about Wii u, dont ahve it. i was reffering to 3ds.

Well even then that is a problem in of itself. Why are the systems for 3ds and wii U SO different. that seems strange

The main things I think that could vastly improve Nintendo's online is:
- On screen notifications when a friend logs on or something noteworthy happens
- Cross game voice chat, clearly with MK8 and Smash they are making steps to voice chat with friends, so I see no reason why we can't voice chat with friends over different games
- faster loading to miiverse
-put friends list inside miiverse, the friends list serves no real purpose besides telling us who is online

I never had a problem myself. Probably because I don't care in the slightest about all those features when I have other devices that are better at for example messaging or internet streaming anyway. I don't care enough about almost all other people anyway to want to talk to them. Also I find achievements/trophies to be the most pointless invention of the past decade. Cloud integration; never needed it, won't need it now. Besides, the store actually isn't bad at all. Especially the 3DS one, which is better than that cluster-**** of a store on PS3. Granted I haven't visited that store for like 3 years now so maybe they changed it.

I'm fine with what's there, I don't care either way. Would be fine with more, would be fine with less. Online and it's capabilities are neither a system-seller nor a turn-off for me.
