Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Majora's Mask 3D will run on the 3DS (XL) and 2DS. Who else is upset that Nintendo isn't supporting the New 3DS (XL) properly?

How do you feel about this?

Sigh... Nintendo, why? 10 8.70%

Don't ask me, I am indifferent. 36 31.30%

New 3DS should make 3DS obsolete. 15 13.04%

I don't need reasons to hate Nintendo. 35 30.43%

I don't see what the problem is. They obviously don't want to abandon the 2DS and original 3DS, and I expect that will be the case for the rest of the generation.

I suspect that it's going to have extra content or improved quality on the New3DS, much like how early Pokemon games had colour information for playing on the GBC. Rather than making it New3DS-exclusive, they just have added features.

Definitely expecting Amiibo functionality (it's too perfect to match Amiibos with the masks). Face-tracking the camera would also be a great addition, allowing the game to feel like you're looking through a window into the world, rather than looking at a 3D representation on a screen.

I'd be pissed if they made it a N3DS exclusive. I have no desire to buy one, as it's not truly the next generation of Nintendo handheld. A small upgrade does not warrant me plopping down another couple hundred dollars. Besides, as is known now, they started working on MM3D right after they released OoT3D, so it's hard to say how far into development the N3DS even was at the same time, and since it's using the same assets as OoT3D, it's very easy to remake MM for the same system.

what no this logic is terrible and so are the options

there should be a straight-up "I'm not upset" option >_>

the game might have quicker loading times for the New 3DS, other than that I don't see why we'd want more exclusives etc. for a console that's not even out and that most people won't have or be willing to get

not to mention said system will be expensive and will have many other benefits besides just exclusives so it's not like they aren't supporting it

this is just stupid, I'm tempted to call trollbait

There was zero need for it to be N3DS exclusive. Just because MM pushed the N64 to the limit back in the day doesn't mean it's pushing the 3DS to the limit. I mean the 3DS isn't a beast or anything, but it's certainly more powerful than the two decade old N64. Besides, the MM 3DS remake has virtually been promised to fans since OoT 3D, so you'd have a lot of pissed off fans if they had to buy the N3DS for it.

As everyone should know by now, Nintendo will launch a new handheld in America and Europe early next year: The New 3DS that also arrives in shops as an XL version. The system features updated specs as well as a second nub and additional shoulder buttons.

Earlier this week Nintendo announced a remake of the Nintendo 64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask which will run on every 3DS model, including the 2DS. What this means is that Nintendo isn't going to use the full capabilities of the New 3DS which is doubly infuriating when you consider that Majora's Mask was a game that pushed the boundaries when it released in 2000, namely by requiring the RAM Expansion Pak of the Nintendo 64.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that Nintendo is holding back Majora's Mask 3D by catering to the lowest common denominator and in turn basically sending out the New 3DS to die?

Either way game is awesome

I agree

I can't imagine anything the N3DS could add to the MM3D that would add value.

Wow, terrible post Rol. I don't even know where to start. If I weren't on my phone I would type out an essay on how horribly wrong and blind sighted you are with this.
I thought you were one of the more mature level headed users here.

You really got me too, until someone pointed out that you were trolling. Very subtle. Very stealthy

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
