Forums - Sales Discussion - XBO and PS4 are selling upwards of 50K units combined a week in the UK at the moment

Wow, that's massively off from what vgchartz shows.

Good sales. Those 2 are doing very nicely there.

Not possible. Unless by "are selling" they mean Destiny or FIFA weeks.

It is getting closer to the holidays and each console has pretty good deals going on. How is it not possible? It even mentions that the One is doing better than before thanks to the price drop.

The UK is not a big enough market to sell 50k a week regularly, even in October. That's like selling 300k a week in the US. A couple of weeks yes, probably what they referred to (if the article exists at all because I couldn't find it. Maybe print?). Consistently, no.

Well, with 9M, the 360 averaged 93,750 per week. Of course, that includes the holiday period but it shows that it's possible.

I would assume this was taken from MCV's magazine. In the UK, the One just recently got a price drop and there is a bundle for Fifa. Would be doing better than before, regardless of what US sales might be.

My point is not that they couldn't sell that much a couple of weeks. My point is that it can't be a thing that's happening regularly, which is what that wording makes it sound like.

9m / 52 weeks a year / 9 years = 19k. Including holidays.

So, if we take that number as correct, we are looking at about 30:20 thousand in favor of PS4...

Oops - I thought it was monthly.

This could be something thanks to the Fifa bundle. Consumers are just adopting the consoles at a faster rate right now. You can't say for sure that it can't happen.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

I can say for sure it can't happen with any consistency.

Have anything to back that up with, besides comparing it to US sales which is irrelevent as the UK market has been getting new bundles and price cuts compared to the US?
