Nintendo have always had lots of good quality 1st party games. There is no quality control regarding 3rd party games released on Nintendo consoles. A lot of really crap games get allowed onto Nintendo consoles eg Shaq Fu on the SNES, Fifa 64 and Superman 64 on the N64 and Ninjabread Men on the Wii.
