Green Man Gaming is giving away free copies of Firaxis’ XCOM: Enemy Unknown to those who vote in this year’s Golden Joystick Awards. Not only will players receive a copy of the original, participants will also receive an 80% discount for the seminal tactical strategy title’s expansion, XCOM: Enemy Within, through Playfire Rewards. It’s really easy to vote, just go over to the Golden Joysticks Awards website and pick a winner, just remember to submit your vote with the address from your Green Man Gaming account, if you don’t have one you can register for GMG here. You can claim your new game on the Green Man Gaming website and link it to Steam, where your new game can be found.

The freebie Green Man Gaming is giving out this year, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, was honored with a Golden Joystick last year for being the best mobile and tablet game of the year. We concur, and are pretty sure XCOM is one of the best games of all time on any system.

Nice, thanks a lot! Always wanted to play the game but somehow never bought it.

I've tried to get this to work for me, but it refuses to. I already have a Playfire account with my Steam linked to it, but if I try logging in using that, it gets an error. Then I try using a different email, it sends me the email, I click the link to verify it, and then it says my Steam is already linked to another account and I have to log in using that account, which it won't let me do. Literally nothing I can do.

It's a good game, though it can be a bit frustrating and slow. I haven't played the expansion, though, so I might do it for that.

Maybe login in Steam and try disconnecting the Playfire link? I have no idea if that's possible! I didn't have an account so for me it was just a matter of signing up!

Got to do it the other way around. Have to unlink Steam from Playfire. but that's not an easy process. It's just frustrating because the error message says I need to login with my Playfire account that has the Steam linked, but it never once asks me to login using my Playfire credentials. The inital form asks for the Golden Joystick email, and that's the only time I'm asked to login. Super frustrating.

F I forgot my steam pw and cannot reset it while I'm at work.

I have an account already. Yet there is only an option to create a new account. Green Man Gaming is known for making these free game dealies as difficult as possible to actually get.
