No chance, in my opinion.

The Xbox One has sold 2.6m year to date. Let's say it's even more skewed towards holiday sales than the Xbox 360, then it could end up with 9m by the end of the year, tops.

The Wii U has sold 1.9m YTD. Let's say that it is less skewed towards holiday sales than it was last year. That would still put it past 9m.

So yeah, even using optimistic numbers, it won't happen. It'll happen some time in 2015 no doubt, just not this year.

You have to have faith.

Eh, I was using VGC numbers before they realised Xbox One was really undertracked and Wii U quite overtracked, and before the price cut announcement.

Which was exactly what our main point. Wii U was being overtracked throughout the whole summer and we knew that. Noone wanted to believe it though.

But my Wii U numbers were about correct though. 9m by the end of the year.

At the time Xbox One was undertracked by 500,000 units, making not only the base number larger, but also the weely numbers. Add the price cut, and the expectations are totally different.

Even without the price cut it wasn't a "no chance" situation. But I guess that happens when getting too deep into VGChartz numbers.

BF results and NPD are the barometers, since it's really the USA that can put Xb one ahead by that much. But the SSB effect in the USA was not very hopeful for Wii U, but maybe that's because people were waiting for BF.

I feel like Smash in the US sold pretty well, right around my expectations. I'm sure it will get a nice boost from Black Friday but not as much as people think. We knew about Xbox One and PS4 bundles weeks before Black Friday and nothing was announced for the Wii U so I don't see why there would be too many people waiting.

Anyway, this was one hell of a thread, I started reading a few of the earlier pages and found myself reading the whole thing within the hour. It was quite enjoyable, lots of hilarious comments from certain people :P

Nope, wii u sales will increase too much after smash bros.

You sure have a lot of faith in Smash Bros. I think it will increase sales but not like Halo, COD and sunset. I'm pretty sure they will pass or be with 100,000 after black friday sales.

a collection, a yearly multiplat and a small exclusive won't have even half the impact of smash.

Seems you were very wrong. Seeing as how week one CoD sold 1.5 million more than Smash. Granted Smash was only released in the US for now but still highly doubt the numbers from Europe + Japan are over 1.5 million. Adding in Halo MCC which is sitting at 1.29 million at the moment and probably only gonna get higher due to the bugs being fixed + black friday. And of course we already know that the Xbox One sold pretty well over the last 3 weeks not counting Black Friday even.

Sadly, Sunset sold below my expectations, I feel like they really should have made more bundles for it, felt it could have done well on Black Friday.

Yea should have made a lot more Sunset bundles. I'm thinking this game is undertracked, Due to Bundles not being counted and also undertracked on units.

Seems MS did a really good job putting the focus on them and games. SSB bundle I'm sure moved a few but nothing like xbox one, In order to get to 2 Million, Xbox needs a really good sales gap this week. This would set it in stone essentially, Also hopefully they can stock back up on the COD: AW Bundle and the Sunset over drive bundle. I live outside chicago and we had every store check for both bundles and they could find any unless we went out of state and that was not even a sure thing. LOL

Wow, the amount of people voting for 4 Million gap has really jumped, wonder why? I think that is 2 high, My personal it is going to hit somewhere around 2.5. on the highest.

When I first saw it I thought it was troll voters lol I think 2 million is reasonable IF the Xbox One beat the PS4 over Black Friday but 4 million just seems insane.

Looking at early numbers, it looks like Xbox One has at least added a million gap. So looks like 2 million doesn't seem that far out of reach. Might even hit the 2.5 I originally Predicted.
