I'm a bit surprised that many here do not see the problem with a teacher having sex with a student.

Beyond that, if true, how stupid can they possibly be? Did they really trust a 16 year old to not tell anyone? They need to be removed just for being idiots.

The one really big problem I have, however, is that their names and faces are splashed all over the media when they've only been charged, not found guilty. This is a charge that can destroy lives even if they are never convicted. That needs to change.

16 is still high for European standards, isn't it 15 in Germany? It is 15 in Poland. You can have sex with a 14 yo in Italy - that's the European high score I think that the lowest regulated age limit in the World is 8 yo, but I forgot where it is

and i dont think 8 yo is allowed anywhere in the world. some middle eastern countrys dont have a age, its just allowed if u are married.

I agree, both that is is a ridiculous situation and that minors should be protected from themselves.

The main issue is that a teacher is a figure of autorithy, which is a seductive thing. I think it is wrong to use this power to get sex. And even if th girls or boys approach him (her), he(she) should know better.

Oh well, sign of times I guess. Makes me happy that I do not have any kids.

16 is the legal sexual consent age in Spain, so outside of the ethics of teacher having sex with student, I don't really see the problem here.

Thats exactly what i dislike if the student was a "her" people would be concerned but since its a guy no one should care and the girls should be left free

Can't really blame feminists when even men have the same double standards. Either high five both your female friend having threesomes with two other men and your male friend who has a threesome with two women, or condemn both. But we don't, now do we? Normally I'd have no problem with that, but the fact that two of them were teachers is worng in my opinion, so no "nice" comments from me (though I do get the joke of the South Park episode).
