This is very much true.

The Spanish Civil War (  http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Civil_War  ) has a lot in common with what happens in Syria/Iraq. Those that went there to fight were hated by almost everyone. Decades later they became "heroes".

What?

What?

* Heavy involvement of foreign interest (in Spain: Soviet Union/Nazi Germany - in Syria: Iran/Saudi Arabia/Rusia).

* European countries operate an official policy of non-intervention.

* The wars are notable for the passion and political/religous division it inspire, and for the atrocities committed by both sides.

* Lots of foreign fighters with a strong conviction (in Spain: political - in Syria: religous).

Many non-iraqi, often affiliated with radical muslim entities, joined the ISIS, believing that Syria/Iraq was a front line in the war for Islam.

Many non-Spaniards, often affiliated with radical communist or socialist entities, joined the International Brigades, believing that the Spanish Republic was a front line in the war against fascism.

Syria/Iraq: ISIS include perhaps 3,000 foreigners; nearly a thousand are reported to hail from Chechnya and perhaps 500 or so more from France, Britain and elsewhere in Europe.

Spain: Significant numbers of volunteers originated in France (10,000), Germany and Austria (5,000), and Italy (3,350). More than 1,000 each came from the Soviet Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Yugoslavia, Hungary, and Canada.

Are they the nazis of our generation?

Killing christians, killing babies, bombing, etc....

Why is this being tolerated?

America goes after them...world hates us and blames oil. We do not go after them...world still hates us and does nothing themselves....right?

No they arent. The nazis used economic problems to gain followers into killing jews whereas Islamic state uses religion to gain followers for killing people from the first world. If it would be so easy to put all evil acts into nazi perspective then you americans would also have to be considered that because of the  japan atom bombings.

Speaking of.  The world doesnt hate you for this particular reason.  Many countries have the same thoughts about islamic state and are also actively contributing to the war. Obamas view on wars is the best thing to happen to you in terms of global opinion in a loong time.

Also it would seem we know more about the reasons behind your wars than at least some of you as Islamic state doesnt hold any considerable oil reserves. most of its ressources are spent to fuel the war machine.

ISIS is a group of islamic terrorists financed, trained and supplied by West to put down Asad government.
After Syrian fail they regrouped and this summer Western media start extremely PR them as a next Al Quaeda/Bin Laden/Hitler.
So I see 3 possibilities here:
1. USA weapon turns back AGAIN.
2. ISIS will be used as an excuse to bomb Syria (which we already seeing).
3. ISIS noise is used to hide some things really important (like a fail of USA economy, for example) from the people. Or to be made a reason for such a fail.

Or I see a possibility of all three factors above toghether in some strange mix.

Already happening here in Australia.

So a mix of all three then. Since 2 of them already happening and first one is VERY possible.

Also I'd like to add that the ISIS noise also turns western mass media from Ukraine matters. All the information about Malaisian boeing is hidden now (i'm 99% sure it was shot down by Ukrain military jet). Also on the positions where Ukraine army was standing is found a lot of burial places with local Donetsk people tortured and killed, some of them with inner organs deleted (seems - for black market). Figures now varies from 600 to 2500 and its count increases during searches. Russia and DNR asks OSCE to start investigations on this. Currently West still silent on this matter. Sadly, you've gave birth to some terrible monsters on Ukraine and it will be a huge problem for all of Europe at least 10-15 years now...

Great.  More looney conspiracy theories...

I hate them because they transform innocent kids from my country into soldiers. They stole their future.

Also anyone killing in the name of god should question its beliefs. American or ISIS.

No, they're not even close to the Nazis. Nazi Germany had an intelligent leader and was the most technologically developed nation, until the US spearheaded the Manhattan Project. If Germany doesn't invade the Soviet Union and the Japanese don't attack Pearl Harbor then Germany would have captured most of Europe. Europe today would basically be the Third Reich, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and the Soviet Union.

ISIS is basically the weakest 'nation' on Earth and is being slaughtered by world powers. It's a diserservice to the 60 million who lost their lives in WW2 to compare the Nazis and ISIS.

"On my business card I am a corporate president. In my mind I am a game developer. But in my heart I am a gamer." - Satoru Iwata

Sadam / Osama / ISIS / etc. is the excuse du jour for the government to transfer money to the military industrial complex.

In exchange, the military industrial complex provides campaign funds for politicians to get reelected.
Rinse and repeat.

And remember, it's about invading / occupying / equipping the enemy / humanitarian aid / overthrowing / stirring up trouble etc. The worst thing to do would be to spend a week actually defeating ISIS. We need to keep the gravy train going!

Look on the bright side. You may be 30 and still living in your parents' house, but at least as an American you will be protected from the cave-dwelling goatherders 10,000 miles away.

Useful idiots. In that regard yes, they resemble german & austrian nazis indeed.
