I think price is the main reason why it is not selling that well at this moment. Why? Well, to answer that let's try to break down who might be Wii U's main audience. And I think that audience could tentatively be divided in:

1) Nintendo Hardcore fans

2) New gamers (or parents who are looking to buy an affordable/family friendly console for their kids)

3) Wii owners/Non Nintendo Harcore fans. Here we have all of those (now adolescent) kids that got the Wiis from their parents last gen, but who are now old enough to decide what they want to play.

4) Dedicated gamers (here we have all those people who ALWAYS buy more than one platform and who might see Nintendo's consoles as the perfect secondary consoles because of their exclusives)

Now, obviously members of the first group don't have a problem with the price tag because they see Nintendo's first party games and think that those games more than justify that price tag.

BUT the problems begin when you try to convince members of the remaining three groups.

So I think the biggest enemies of the Wii U at this point are the PS360. They are cheaper options, they have 8 years worth of games, and nowadays you can find plenty of family friendly games there (not to mention the fact that many kids nowadays dont want family friendly consoles).

So, all in all, I can totally see why a lot of people from the last 3 groups can opt to go for the PS360 instead, at least for the moment. Now, could a more affordable price be able to make them change their minds? well, at least that would be one less obstacle.

PS: any grammar correction would be appreciate it, english is not my first language and I´m trying to improve.

It's too late now,now people will buy ps4/Xone instead of ps3 and xbox360.

vita and wii u has the ssame problem they don't have 3rd party support, vita price cut didn't do nothing so it won't do nothing to wii u too

I think he's talking about those people who would have bought a Wii U as a cheap, family friendly console. Currently, the PS360 offer the same if not more library and family friendly games due to their longevity, plus they can be picked up at cheaper prices than the Wii U. I know people who have bought PS3 or X360 for their kids recently, because they're cheap, and the Wii U just doesn't have enough presence in the retailers here to even be noticed.

Besides, the majority of PS4/Xone buyers at this point in time are a completely different market.

If you're enjoying the console then nothing else really matters.

I agree it is a little reminiscent of the Dreamcast, minus some of that third party goodness.

I enjoy it more than the original Wii. Mario Galaxy was incredible, but I found the rest of the experience on the console somewhat lacking. The online and eShop was terribly limited (512MB "fridge" storage, c'mon). Wii Sports and Fit were fun for about an hour but the novelty of that wore off quick for me.

The HD visuals and the better eShop/online experience feels like going from a economy car up to a luxury car. It's nice and HD suits Nintendo games very nicely.

The only thing that sucks is knowing that things like Bayonetta 2 probably aren't going to sell that great so Nintendo may not make another one with Platinum.

a price cut is overdue for wiiu.

TL;DR: Enjoy console, don't give a shit about sales.

Am I doing it right?

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

I'd argue it had a great launch line up (if you also play 3rd party games)

I agree. I see it in the same veign i saw the gamecube. A system full of value and good games to play.

I think people are happy with their Wii and  don't have a reason to get a Wii u,ps3 and x360 lack kids and family friendly  games.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m
