Take a good look around you.

We live in an age where teenagers and adults alike throw curse words around carelessly as if they were merely words. We have openly gay individuals acting as if their sinful actions only affect their own lives and should not only be accepted by everybody around them, but be treated equally to the actions of heterosexual individuals. We have millions of godless individuals acting as if God is a myth and the Bible is a collection of fairy tales, and in spite of this truly believes that their "good" actions alone bear any substance.

On top of this, there are billions of people who are told during their most impressionable part of their lifetime that one-, or even several false gods are the true makers and upholders of this world. Children of all ages mislead from life until death, robbed not only of the truth, but the ability to think critically. Robbed of the ability to even recognize the pervading patterns all around us, that lead us to our one true creator.

The Antichrist has been all around us for some time, and his ground is expanding rapidly. If you are expecting an individual or entity to suddenly appear and cause trouble, you are grossly mistaken.

Well said, the signs are indeed all around us. The sexual imorality all around the world is already bigger and worst than it was in Sodom and Gomorrah, so that is a check.

The sorcery and idolatry is already much much worst than it ever was in the days of the Caananites, so that is also a check.

There is a lot of mixing of animals and species, so, the corruption of flesh that happened in the days of Noah is also a check.

Israel was restored in one day in 1948, so, as Jesus said, it cannot pass a generation (80 years) after that.

All the pieces are in place, but indeed there will be a man of sin, a symbol, yes, but a man netherless. Isaiah, Daniel, John and even Jesus talked about him: he will demand or allow the Third Temple in Jerusalem, make a peace covenant there and then start a a slaughter of all the believers in God.

He is the 666 beast, a number of one man, so there will be such a piece in the puzzle. He could come from anywhere really, and prophecy states that he will have demonic powers granted by Satan himself.

I agree with you that the things in place bare more significance than the man himself, but I do believe those who have the Holy Spirit will be able to perceive when the man of sin manifest himself public.

I don't think it matters too much where he comes from. We'll know once the signs happen (Assuming they are in our lifetimes. People haven't said that they are Christ and performed miracles yet, at least of I know of)

True, but the men saying they are the christ will happen before the antichrist himself, close, but before.

The sign of the antichrist will be the abomination of desolation in the Third Temple in Jerusalem (which the antichrist himself will allow to be built, in the ocasion of the peace covenant).

After the event, 3 and half years of tribulation of persecution in the whole Earth for the believers (even those in calm nations like Canada or Brazil will suffer). Then the sign in the sky and the trompets, in the same day the Rapture. But the antichrist will be in charge for 3 and half years before Christ comes. It is in Matthew 24.

Pay atention to the fig three reference. Isaiah let it be know that this sign is Israel reborn in one day. And a generation is 80 years, Psalms revealed that.

¶ Jesus answered: ¶ "Watch out that no one deceives you.
¶ For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and will deceive many.
¶ You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
¶ Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
¶ All these are the beginning of birth pains.
¶ "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.
¶ At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
¶ and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
¶ Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
¶ but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
¶ And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
¶ "So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' [^1] spoken of through the prophet Daniel —let the reader understand —
¶ then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
¶ Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house.
¶ Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.
¶ How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
¶ Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.
¶ For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now —and never to be equaled again.
¶ "If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
¶ At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it.
¶ For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
¶ See, I have told you ahead of time.
¶ "So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the wilderness,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it.
¶ For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
¶ Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
¶ "Immediately after the distress of those days ¶ "'the sun will be darkened, ¶ and the moon will not give its light; ¶ the stars will fall from the sky, ¶ and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.' [^2]
¶ "Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth [^3] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. [^4]
¶ And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
¶ "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
¶ Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it [^5] is near, right at the door.
¶ Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

Mateus 24:4-34

This is ironic and I agree.

Why are you convinced that the apocalypse will happen during your lifetime? As you quoted Mateus, he also believed/hoped that it would come soon "Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened" Matthew 24:33-35
...and so have many believed trough the ages. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalypticism

True, it may come much later, but I base this in the fig tree parable, from Matthew 24 and from the Isaiah 66-7. The 1948 time frame and a generation after, so, it will probably happen before 2028.

Of course, as you said, I may be wrong. But the Sodom signs (imorality and sorcery) and Noah signs (animal hybrids and worship of fallen angels) are also strong signs.
