Earlier in the year Krillbite Studio launched its debut videogame in Among The Sleep, a first-person horror experience that featured support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) on PC, Mac and Linux. Shortly before the launch of the title the developer announced that it would be bringing the experience to PlayStation 4 in the future, with support for the console’s Project Morpheus VR HMD also included. Now the team has revealed that development of this version is almost complete.
“#AmongTheSleep was just played all the way through on the #PS4!” the developer recently revealed. “Only some optimization and bug-fixing left now!” Krillbite Studio even included an image of the title being played with the PlayStation 4′s Dualshock 4 controller in the message. This should mean that we can expect news on the PlayStation 4 version’s launch in the near future, although Project Morpheus support likely won’t be included until the device itself releases.
Among The Sleep casts players as a toddler investigating strange noises in the night along with their companion, a walking talking teddy bear. The title focuses on exploration and atmosphere as opposed to combat and scores. The title was subject to a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign in 2013, raising $248,358 USD to fund development.
