Why the hell is Wii Fit Trainer selling out?

Because Nintendo measured demand and did not offered 100 Links, 100 Marios and 100 Wii Fit Trainer, most likely they gave 100 Links, 100 Marios and 20 Wii Fit Trainers, and more than 20 people (all made up numbers) want that amiibo, so now that one is sold out, as simple as that.

A very simple answer, probably true. Thanks, I sometimes forget the simplest of things.

I don't think they will stay unavailable until release, last week Villager/Wii Fit Trainer were available for some time.

Judging from the hype and amazon charts (whatever it actually means), it should have great debut sales.

Gamer's get hyped for a Toy/Add-On + Money Grab, that does almost nothing to enhance the game but Diss Destiny for being an over hyped game that tries too much.

These are cool. And I will be getting a few for my kids for Christmas. But they better make Luigi, or GTFO.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

It's a good thing I'm not interested in Amiibos Nintendo should announce some bundles (like 2 for $20 and stuff) once they restock/make another direct.

They'll probably bundle them with games :)

Personally I don't mind my shelves are bare at the moment

At least Nintendo is trying to do something different. Aside from the MMO elements, Destiny is the epitome of "Tried and True" in today's industry, and looking at the reviews compared to the press and media attention, I would definitely say the game was overhyped.

I will be picking up a Link Amiibo for sure, even if it is just as a collectible.
If this Amiibo thing takes off and it is in fact better than what most people expect (gameplay enhancements etc.), I will likely pick up more.

As of now Link alone will do. They do appear to be well made.
