One more price cut & I'll pity buy one.

Their latest big budget games such as Tearaway and Killzone didn't sell well. Especially Tearaway did terrible and it was a great game. While everyone is dissappointed that they stopped supporting it so early on, making more big budget games for it would just throwing money away. If people were buying Tearaway and Killzone (both of which are very high quality games), they would still continue making them.  They also don't really move hardware. Vita sales were horrible for a long, long time.

what did they expect you take into account the userbase when creating your budget , also uncharted on the vita sold well when you compare it with early gen ps4 games .

A lot of this has to do with budget redirects to ps4 and thats no surprise and makes sense to a degree . What they should do is look at the success of persona 4 golden and try to get more of those classic jrpg franchise on to the Vita, whether thats  them encouraging 3rd partys to bring back franchises like grandia , siukoden etc or making new ones , it's cheaper to produce those type of games on vita and you don't need to sell 1mill or more just to break even.

Uncharted was a launch game. At launch most games do well as long as they aren't broken. Later in its lifecycle most games bombed.

I definitely agree that they may still do plenty of stuff such as trying to secure jrpgs, localizations and making relatively low budget games. The situation was bad by itself and they horribly mismanaged it. Just saying that expecting more big budget titles from both first party and the third party is not realistic. They don't sell enough.

I agree  , their big mistake was not differentiating the Vita from the PS3 enough , they should have looked more closely at the PSP and what made that a success from a software sense .

The other thing and we have touched on it allready is  their push on big ticket games like killzone and uncharted , my take on those games is Sony got over excited and presumed that people would see them like there PS3 counterparts and grab a Vita to play them ,where as all it did was make the Vita a target for negatives like thats what I bought my PS3 and large screen TV for  , it was also hampered by poorhigh profile  games like COD and Resistance and what happens with games like those is  Sony and the developers  end up saying the audience isn't there and it's not coming across so we'll  look else where instead of  saying they where poor games what have we learned so we make better Vita games  , instead we get no more Uncharted killzone budget games .

But don't expect games like Uncharted or Killzone again.

You say that like its a bad thing.

I rather play games like Danganronpa and JRPGs instead.

Normally I'd agree, but in this case both of them were good games. Killzone was actually excellent apart from being a bit short but it had a fantastic Multiplayer. I want games more like Spelunky, Hotline Miami etc. It is just perfect for them and there is actually no shortage of those games on the system. Pretty much the only thing I want from it is a Port Royale type of game.

As much as i like games like that. I want another Uncharted. A new handheld GTA would be nice too. The Vita needs the bigger titles to raise awareness of the system which would mean only greater sales for the many indies available in the long run. Unfortunately Sony is stupid when it comes to the Vita and doesn't really want it to do well

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Probably the 100th time i've said this but TIME TO LEARN JAPANESE!

But PS4 has a more noteworthy library of games and always had promising library down the road.

Sony put some noteworthy games on Vita early on, but they've clearly given up. Now they're telling people the upcoming library is basically just ports of indie games and other niche stuff.

Late ports of noteworthy games can still move some hardware. It would also be a bigger effort than we're currently seeing from Sony.

Their latest big budget games such as Tearaway and Killzone didn't sell well. Especially Tearaway did terrible and it was a great game. I think late ports of noteworth games on Vita are worth doing. Making big budget exclusives for Vita would be a waste.

Either way, it doesn't matter. Sony is clearly fine with the Vita fading into obscurity.

I don't care too much. But going from PS3 to N64 level and from PS4 to Wii level is too much of a stretch for me.

Jesus, the "I have no idea of what I'm reading right now"-ness of this post is astounding. I don't even know what to say but, YEAH, YOU DO CARE WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT GRAPHICS.

Vita is dead and has been for over a year now.

Sure it gets some good games here or there, but it has largely been relegated as a niche device by Sony.

I really doubt there will be another Sony handheld.
