Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Have you gotten all 242 stars in SMG?

I have, it took me two weeks to get all 121 then another 4 weeks to get 242 because I was getting bored doing it all over again.

Damn you make me remenber I have to beat galaxy today I currently have 57 stars I got the game since chrismas but I have been busy so I really dont have time to play.

btw when you got 121 with mario do you create a new profile to play as luigi or you just continue from your old profile?

Good for you that you finished, i found it bland and haven't touched it.

Yeah, I got all 242 stars sometime in December. I started another file, but I haven't gotten far.

Currently Playing: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros for Wii U

Predictions:

Super Mario Galaxy will pass Super Mario 64 in total sales CORRECT!

No, not yet, sorry. I only have 90, i'll get back to it immediately. Sorry.

I beat it with Mario, so I have 120, but I realized I'm not all that great at platformers (first one I've ever played) and it really wasn't my type of game. I'd still give it a 9+ because it was good... just not my type of game.

I was very unmotivated to play through it again after I saw nothing was really different about Luigi's game. No fault with the game itself, it was phenomenal, and I definitely wasn't as pissed off as when in Mario 64 you got jack crap for getting 120 stars except 100 lives and getting to see Yoshi's gold-bricking ass.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. @Soriku
Thax soriku Im currently on toy time galaxy I will tell you when I beat the game with mario I will probably do it today(only 2 stars missing)

@RolStoppable
Thax.

Got 'em all. A little OT but didn't think it was worth making a new topic just for this.

If you have unlocked both completely which do you prefer to play as?

I prefer Luigi with his speed and higher jumps. The speed can be an issue if you play recklessly but it's also quite fun.
