Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If you want quality mature games on Wii U, please don't support a gimped port of Watch Dogs. There's a better solution.

Honestly, all that would do is tell Nintendo that they don't need to work for third party support. All they need to do is pay for one random third party title a year, and the sheep will pick it up.

Like working for it will do anything for them at this point in the generation. They've already doomed themselves to not getting any third party support with the way the platform was built plus the lack of a good-sized and dedicated mature base on the platform. Nintendo can't get any 3rd parties back until next generation, where hopefully Iwata's plan for a unified development environment across both handheld/console might rein some in.

That's why I'm encouraging people to build that base now. It might get us more than just one of those titles a year from Nintendo, and may get us more solid support in the future.

I will buy both...oh don't fotget Devil's Third!!!! Also I will buy COD Advanced Warfare over my other systems just to support Nintendo!! Fanboy freak I know. Hear that Nintendo, Activision, Ubisoft...yes this sucker is die hard enough to buy Wii U over the other systems because I love Nintendo. Yes, Nintendo I deserve a cookie;)

If you manage to buy Advanced Warfare for the Wii U, I will be quite impressed.

Anyway I'm not buying a game just to "support" a certain type of game on a console I own. If it's a game that genuinely interests me and looks promising, I'll pick it up. Otherwise, forget it.

Also, all games mentioned I want with Watch Dogs the only marginal one.

If Watch Dogs sells well then Ubisoft among others will think its ok to continue releasing late & inferior ports. If Bayonetta 2 sells well then we are likely to continue to see 3rd party collaborations, whereas if it flops like Wonderful 101 then Nintendo will probably stop funding these types of games.

It takes one game to change the tides. You really think that if Nintendo announced a new IP like Destiny was coming out in 2016, that 3rd parties wouldn't come back in droves? It would be announced, non Nintendo fans would buy a Wii U for it, and 3rd parties would actually have an audience to sell their games to.

This one gets it. I have no intention of supporting the negative feedback loop that third parties like to use with us. I'd prefer to support a game that's actually fully featured and of extremely high quality.

It won't do well. Bayonetta doesn't "do well." If Nintendo want's a 3rd party exclusive to do well, they need to actualy start buying exclusives with a chance to do well. Sunset Overdrive does. Devils Third doesn't.

Unfortunately I don't think Bayonetta 2 will sell all that hot either.

Something like Hyrule Warriors will probably max out at about 700k worldwide, and that's using the well known Zelda brand.

Bayo 2 will probably be lucky to hit 400k.

Sunset Overdrive would flop on the Wii U too IMO.

Wii U is a tough nut to crack, even things like Donkey Kong Country are unlikely to hit 1 million sold WW.

I kinda agree, dont support the late port that is likely to be gimped in some way, that would just show Ubisoft and others that we are ok with late, inferior versions of games. Instead support the exclusive title that Nintendo themselves is funding.

perfect, especially after ubisoft's ceo insulted the wii u owners.

Bayonetta 2 actually has screen shots released and is running smoothly on the Wii U plus you get the first game as a bonus in N.A.
