Forums - Sony Discussion - The Last of Us PS4 has already eclipsed its PS3 predecessor

Naughty Dog’s Drew Thaler has confirmed that The Last of Us: Remastered has already eclipsed its PlayStation 3 predecessor in terms of active multiplayer participants.

Thaler confirmed the milestone on Twitter just two days after the PlayStation 4 revamp of last year’s post-apocalyptic horror hit stores in the U.S.

Not to bad for an "unnecessary" remake.

Tlou multiplayer was boring. I played 300 hrs of uncharted 3. I didn't bothered to play tlou multilayer for 10 hr.

I heard PS3's multiplayer only had about 9000 players at the time the post was made. Not too hard to pass on the first day

Loved the multiplayer. You actually have to think to play it. It's kind of a nice change of pace.

Blue is TLOU:R, yellow is TLOU, green is U3.

Don't copy random editorials.

The Multiplayer is a hidden gem, very addicting and based on stealth for the most part. I really hope people love it like I did/do.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Man TLoU multiplayer was sooo good and fresh.Honestly it is amazing and perfect if you play with friends.
The downside is that it's difficult compared to the ussual multiplayer games, it needs thinking and really intense (so it's tiring) and there are not many unlockables or levels to keep you playing.
I've played for 35 hours and I feel I'm good.I'll probably play again sometime but you know...apart from the fact that it's fun,I have nothing else to look forward to.

Uncharted 2 was a similar case. After 20 hours you had unlocked everything and levels were pointless.
However I'm positive that if they make a TLoU2 they will fix everything "wrong" with it's multiplayer.Just like they did with Uncharted 3.I've played over 200 hours of this.

Wow that's pretty weak to brag about. It just seems ND wants to find anything justify this.

LOL the dev is using a random figure like multiplayer users? That proves that it was an unwanted remake. If they had good sales they would be boasting about having record sales, not some random number like "multiplayer participants".

From the sounds of it, TLOU multiplayer wasn't popular to begin with, so it was obviously gonna be easy to pass it.
