They helped publish and supervise the series, but I'm pretty sure they weren't involved in the development.

You are correct. Idea Factory are the developers

The only scan of Great Edo Blacksmith I've seen that has anything resembling gameplay:

So we're looking at possibly-even-lower-than-Criminal-Girls-level dungeon graphics and a first person combat system.
