Disclaimer: Following thread is a representation of my opinion about console gaming and pc gaming. I am just expressing my opinion. If you disagree then please provide your logical explanation.

Console gaming vs PC gaming.

PC gaming is rising like a phoenix from ashes. Hardware sales have increased a lot. And so do the purchase of software’s from digital distributions. As a result some websites are citing that PC gaming are taking consoles market share. This is also true. And recently some are saying there is no need for console exclusives. These should be released in PC platforms. Because PC have more hardware power and more players. But some facts never change.

Consoles determine how a generation should be shaped. When a new console is released game developers and console manufacturers say welcome to next gen. Despite having more power when, Nvidia / AMD announces a new line of GPU no developers can say, welcome to next gen.

Illusion: With more power PC will destroy consoles.

Reality: The next gen doesnt start unless consoles say so. Lol. Ken kutaragi.

Software wise PC have surpassed consoles. But here is the catch. A lions share come from MMO and MOBA’s. Don’t PC help to sell AAA games. Of course it does. Like Diablo 3. But it is very common in consoles …cough …cough… COD / AC … cough … cough. A new platform like PS4 is responsible for 37% ubisofts last quarter’s sales. But that millions PC users responsible for 10% ubisofts revenue.

Illusion: Watch dogs was unoptimized. So PC sales are low.

The truth: Ubisoft as well as major publishers; is very pleased with PS4 and Xbox One software sales.

As I have stated in my thread (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=185646) so called AAA games shape the graphical technology in gaming. Indie games are great. But none of them have introduced a new leap in graphics technology. It is AAA games that are shaping it. But AAA games are kinda risky in PC. Consoles are also prone to risk but in consoles AAA games sells a lot. Meaning more $60 per game for developers. That helps developers to get their cash back.

Illusion: PC gaming is great with vast array of indie developers. PC gaming dont need AAA games. We are happy with indie guys.

The truth: For a community who are always boasting about graphics these indie games don’t push graphics. Lol.

Every PC optimistic article say Sony’s and Microsoft’s AAA games might look better in PC. Sure it will. But if you guys are so much uninterested about these AAA “cinema” games why mention them? Do you guys want to play? Buy a console.

Illusion: Console exclusives might look better in PC.

The truth: If you cant play it whats the point of hoping?

Emulators. Lol. PC guys think they can play what they want. I dont believe that some peoples ego is so big that they want to play all games at 4k. Will they buy legit games for those emulators? 95% change is no. It is pirates who hide under the shadow of very tiny legit owners talk about emulators. Emulators are a feast of pirates.

Illusion: PC can emulate console games.

Truth (95%): We know that there is a 95% chance that you are a pirate. Original game owners there are no need to be offended. Just play games.

This. The points are so far off it's not even worth bothering to make a decent argument.

So I guess people don't buy games on PC anymore? Gabe Newell would like to have a word with you...

PC master race reading this thread is like this now :

Ya know, if you substituted any console fandom in exchange for "PC master race" that would be borderline flaming? But I digress.

Sure because what devs want all along is for games to be sold years later for 5 bucks so everyone can play it and they dont make any money to create new ones. Unlike thouse evil consoles where millions are sold day one for 60, then the devs have so much cash on them to try new things while they just want to quit. I get your point

Huh? What? Have you ever bought a PC game?

The games start off at the same price as console games, and stay that way while the popularity is high. Then, once the popularity starts diminishing, the game slowly decreases in price, allowing it to stay relevant on the store, while still making the dev money. The dev also gets a higher cut of money, since they don't have to worry about manufacturing or shipping costs on Steam. So I don't see your point at all.

You have opened a very very very very big nasty can of worms here my friend.

That aside I think you secretly just made this post to see me and VanceIX have at eachother :)

That aside, there is only one point you made that I agree with. And that is that PCs having more power wouldn't destroy consoles. Though I don't agree with it for the reasons you gave.
