Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft seems to be forcing developers to downgrade the ps4 visuals to match xbox one games through parity clause.

You create the argument by making a baseless post with nothing but speculation and make believe for us to go on. Seems silly to then criticize us for supposedly wanting to argue. Make a logical and well reasoned post with actual evidence and that does a good job of shutting people up.

So the interviews with the devs saying themselfs that they are aiming for parity(not the first time, destiny said it to, not sure who else) is all in our heads. It might be the choice of the devs to do that for the cash, or they could have goten paid we dont really know the reason beacuse like i said before, no one is going to go rant about it to the media because they will probably loose what ever benefict they are guetting.

What is not a theory is that when someone says that they are aiming for parity means that one version out perfoms the other and they are working hard to come to a middle ground. Even if that means that its not gimping the ps4 and just working really hard on x1, then all that effort could also go to ps4 and really put that game on another level. With the comon knowledge the the ps4 is 50% stronger then if detiny can be 1080p30hz on x1 then it can be no problem to get it to 60hz on ps4 but the interview said by the devs themself, no because we are aiming for parity.

Like I said, your type is unwilling to accept any evidence short of being a direct response from the heads that say yea we paid them. JUst to be clear again, I never said its whats hapening for certain, just that it is a posibility and you cannot dismiss everithing.

Companies don't have infinite resources and time. If they are developing for multiple consoles then chances are they won't be able to truly take full advantage of any of them. This is why exclusives are usually the best looking games. The fact that they may not be able to max out the ps4 due to other commitments with other consoles does not indicate that they are being "forced" to do anything. Would you prefer that they just ignored the XB1 and devoted all their time to maxing out the PS4? That is a bit selfish don't you think? When I worked in web development a lot of people really hated IE but we still developed for it and tried to make it run on par with other browsers. We didn't get calls from Microsoft demanding that we do that, we did it because we recognized that a lot of people still use IE and therefore it is important.

I also don't know why you assume that just because destiny can hit 1080p/30fps on means that it should be able to hit 60 on PS4. Isn't it possible that they tried for 60fps on PS4 and it just wasn't stable so they opted for a more stable frame rate instead? You are taking this 50% more powerful thing way too literally.

Looking at the recent sales figures, they shouldnt be giving demands to any developer...

COD: Ghosts has sold a little more on X1 compared to PS4 in NA.. Which considering the PS4 has about 500k more consoles in North America is interesting. Proving that Xbox is likely still the "home" of COD.

Also COD: Ghosts X1/X360 sales are more then PS3/PS4 sales WORLDWIDE. Not by much.. but still more..

interesting how you had to add the 'in NA' part

so glad that the entire world >> NA

Interesting? Cause the bottom part says WORLDWIDE. Did u miss that??

And also..  for there being 3.5 million more PS4's WORLWIDE then X1s COD:Ghosts is only ahead by like 500k worldwide..   So really the X1 has a better % of COD sales then the PS4 does..

nope, didn't miss a thing. I mentioned the part you were comparing directly PS4 to X1, i made no mention to PS3 and 360.

but fine, we can get there too, I would remind that the list of exclusives on the PS3 is much higher than than the one of the 360, even higher difference when you take into account the last 3 to 4 years (excluding move and kinect games, cause who cares...)

So in this case, for an audience of relatively the same size, one of the systems having more games means that there is not such a big concentration of purchases in just a handful of games, but they will be more widely spread.

Now the fact that there are more people playing COD on PS4 than on X1 should negate your statement of X1 'still' being the home to COD. You can't talk about percentages because it doesn't matter. If the PS4 ends up selling 100 Mil and the X1 selling 10 Mil (example only) and the sales are 1/10 on PS4 and 1/2 on X1, there will still be double the amount of players on PS4.

But anyway, f*** COD, it's a shitty game anyway.

Something like that could happen for Japanese 3rd party games with the PS4 versions being the lead platform as well as looking much more superior graphically on PS4, as most of those games usually sell more on Playstation consoles than on Xbox consoles, anyway. Series like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Dynasty Warriors, Tekken, etc.
