We (US) need to get it through our fucking heads that we aren't the world's police. We should shut down all military bases around the world and focus on internal issues. IF nato, or the leading nations of the free world ASK for our involvement in another countries affairs, then we should consider...CONSIDER...it.

The Gulf War was BS and the second war was a damn disgrace of humanity and we should all be ashamed of ourselves for ever allowing it to happen. So no, we shouldn't go send a bunch of brainwashed children to go die needlessly again.

Thank you for posting this..  Glad to see some of you americans dont support this. Now if you guys could also not spy on allies then i would think considerably higher of you.

Not that I disagree with anything you really said, I would point out that the Iraqi President, has asked for our help, as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Martin Dempsey) notified Congress of, on Wednesday.

Eh I wouldn't say we should remove our bases around the world. Japan and South Korea for example depend on our security there to help maintain balance in the region. If some countries ask us to remove the bases then sure.

But to answer your question, no I don't think we'll become involved in Iraq on a level where we put boots on the ground etc...... Air Stirkes and Drones will probably be the most we get involved, although I have heard that were sending 300 "Military Advisers" to the country.

Well these are special instances where these countries actually wants help. While i dont think china would go out and attack japan i do think that south korea needs every soldier from nato it can get.  North korea is like a scared dog in a corner.  If it sees an opening it will definitely bite.

Yes, you guys are not and never were the world police all your wars/invasion were for political gains and corporations. The middle east would of been a lot more peaceful without US intervention.

Many Americans don't support us policing the world. But it mainly happens because the assoles who send the people to fight aren't sending their own children. It's much easier for them to send other people's kids when they're not the ones who'll get a nicely folded flag to replace them when they're gone. They "don't negotiate with terrorists". Until the terrorists captures their child and threatens to behead him or her on camera for the world to see and for the internet to immoratlize.

If I were in charge, you'd have your wish and THEN some. I believe the US should use it's wealth and power for good, not death or other less than moral transgressions. If we spent 1/3 of the money we have wasted of war/legalized murder and put it toward things like world hunger and poverty, there wouldn't be many people left on this earth going without food or shelter.

If we truly are the beacon of a just world, we need to start acting like it. Because the way our government is going, we're quickly becoming the opposite.

i hope so

Iraq war or not, there are some who've always intended on recreating an expansive Islamic Caliphate in that region.  Whether the US does or doesn't go back to War, this is going to be something Iraq/Syria and the surrounding countries are going to have to do something about, eventually, or borders will disappear and a new oppressive sharia regime will take over.

I'm not entirely sure the US going back is going to do anything, unless the surrounding countries are 100% onboard, and involved. This will take a concerted effort by Arab Nations (with or without exterior support), to put an end to. Otherwise, it'll just be sold as US versus Islam again.

You greatly overestimate the strength of the Caliphate-mongers.

You mean the Prime Minister? Nouri Al Maliki? He's lost support from even his own Shia allies and no one in the government likes him. He's the one that demanded US troops leave and signed the troop withdrawal agreement. His entire reign has been catergorized by sectarian politics and score settling which eventually led to the Sunnis revolting and starting this whole mess in the first place. He strongarmed all the other Shia parties and now they see a chance to break from his hold. He made his bed. He can lie in it.

So America went ahead and destroyed a country for claims of owning WMD and wanted to establish a democracy in Iraq. This is what happened:

- Over a million people died in 12 years of sanctions against Iraq (because of claims that IRAQ has WMD) (http://www.thenation.com/article/hard-look-iraq-sanctions#)
- No WMD's existed at all. USA could not find any WMD after taking over Iraq.
- Civil War, explosions, and death on daily basis all over Iraq
- Handed over Iraq to Shia and Iran.
- One of the richest countries in Oil has been destroyed
- Millions of refuges all over the world
- Divided the country and established a Kurdi state in the North of Iraq

Geez, Thank you USA.

I'm pretty sure the banking cartels would love another war. They're the only ones profiting from it.
