Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If You're Over 30 And You Still Love Nintendo, You're Weird

What to do? It's time to break free from the insecure teenager and grow up. It's time to stop worrying so much about what other people thinks about you and how you choose to spend your free time.
The only weird ones here are those who can't accept that some people enjoy things that they don't. They're the ones with issues, not the other way around.

Well that's silly. I love Nintendo games and won't ever stop playing them.

Proud to be weird.

Im 33 i still buy Mario games just to collect it. And my nephew love mario games. I do love Nintedo for their games. Im weird? Thats what my friends and my ex call me. Lol

I'm 31, and I have no problem telling anyone that I'm a Nintendo fan (being one since the original NES). I don't need the approval of society to enjoy what I do. I didn't need it when I was around 13-14 and some people made fun of me for watching Power Rangers. I didn't need it to enjoy Sailor Moon around the same time. And I certainly don't need it now that I'm an adult. Fortunately, I'm perfectly capable of thinking for myself, and thus I do. As the old saying goes, live and let live.

The best thing the game industry could do to get respect from the "mainstream" is to follow its own path. To not let the opinions of those outside of it dictate what it should be. To not be reduced to imitate other established media for the sake of approval. And of course, to have a wide array of offerings to choose from, as every medium should.

How about LittleBigPlanet? It is adorable and not violent at all, and it is fun for all ages =D

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I guess I'm weird and scary. 40 years old, just played 4 player splitscreen MK8 with wife and kids, gonna play some Pikmin 3 in a bit and shoot a bunch of nazis in the face tonight on ps4.

Amen brother.  Video games are really just interactive movies.  I noticed that most women hate video games though because you can't PASSIVELY engage in them like you can a movie.

No arm around your lady here... two hands on the controller and come get some.

That being said you found the secret.  Leverage the family (and kids) for MK type games and then play the violent ones when they go to bed. ;)

That's how it usually goes, however we did play Halo 2 and Killzone 2 co-op for a bit. Women are more into communicating while playing I think. We played Everquest and WoW for years together. However MMORPG and kids don't mix and console online play is generally not a nice environment. So for her it's the occasional facebook game with 4 or more chat windows going while sharing pictures and links.

I thought this was somthing poignant, but all your discussion was about was dribble and nit-picking amongst yourselves and does not represent the most of those who play games and don't play games.

Well then I'm proud to be wierd!
(Not 30 yet :P )

False dichotomy. There's way more out there than the triple A stuff (which includes Nintendo, yes).
