Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If You're Over 30 And You Still Love Nintendo, You're Weird

Shooting at people in army gears = some level of mental enlightenment... yeah right, just go get yourself checked before you go do a *insert public place* mass shooting please.

Seriously, Nintendo games are not my favorites, but you cannot go and say all of the Metroid + Zelda + Mario games are suddenly bad because reasons... their game mecanics (in some of the titles in each series) are timeless and basically gave birth to modern gaming.

Anyway, I say no, just no...

People are weird when they play online shooters with analog sticks together with the target audience for those games (13 year old kids screaming into their microphones).

Thast weird not playing games with color.

Sounds like that whole idea that you have to like violent games that have lots of cutscenes and story to be mature

Im 19 and will probably be gaming with the Big N till I die or they die.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

Well, that's obviously click-bait! There ain't nothing wrong with a 30-year-old liking awesome games!

At any rate, we were talking about E3, which turned into a discussion about the increasingly violent nature of video games. They just seem to be getting darker and grittier and edgier and gorier (as is all entertainment, unfortunately). That's when I brought up Nintendo.

If anything the 1980s were the high point of "gritty and gory" entertainment. Much of it now is more sleek and sanitized. Go watch Robocop and then its remake..

Right. I'm weird because I like what I like, and I like good games.

Some nerds (and by some nerds I also mean these "journalists") really need to grow the fuck up at some point in their lives, and re-evaluate their priorities. A grown ass adult likes what they like, and if they actually give two shits what other people think of what they like....they have some serious psychological issues.

I accepted my 'weird' label many years ago, I won't change in 8 years. Maybe I'm just spoiled being in an environment with other 20-something year old art majors, where we play Nintendo games all we want and watch animated movies every Friday.

yes weird and kiddy

Well I better get into Nintendo games snappy and be finished with them in 5 years. The reason I avoided Nintendo for so many years is because of their kiddy image, now I don't care to much.

that means you have finely matured
