Forums - Gaming Discussion - PSA: Trade in your games at Target this week and get TRIPLE the trade-in value

Wow...I can't believe anyone would keep BF4 for that offer.

Holy crap. I need to finish Metal Gear Solid this week.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Going to trade in ghosts and DR3 right now. Getting $80 so i will pre order watch dogs and cancel my gamestop pre order.
Does this work for xbox 360/ps3 games aswell?

Yes, it works for PS3 and 360 games, albeit the trade in value is lower than PS4 and XBone games (even though they retail at the same price, so that part doesn't make sense to me). Make sure your games are in Target's trade in catalog (to get triple credit) and have the original artwork/instruction manual (to get maximum base value for the game). I don't understand why it's limited to the "trade in catalog" when it says "trade in any game" (you can't say "any" put an asteriks next to it, then say "only") but I'm sure as long as your games are pretty current, you'll get a decent trade in for them. More so than Gamestop

FYI,

I heard rumors that Target corporate realized they fkd up and lowered the values of many games so they aren't completely screwing themselves over anymore starting today, but I have no way of verifying if it's true. If anyone goes in you should let the thread know. I might go check it out. Thinking about giving South Park and Infamous in.

the xbox 360 version of lego marvel is worth more than the ps3 version and both are worth more than the ps4 version..

in reference to KH3 release date

I don't trade games in, ever. That's a nice deal though.

Yes, Target has a trade-in program. And here is the ad

Limited to 3 games per transaction.

Some trade-in prices:

  • Battlefield 4 = $53.58
  • COD: Ghosts = $37.05
  • NBA 2K14 = $50.52
  • Assassins Creed 4 = $51.15
  • Killzone = $43.26
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes = $27.99
  • Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition = $57.30
  • LEGO Marvel Super Heroes = $45.00
  • Knack = $26.64
  • inFAMOUS Second Son = $54.96

when I check BF4 on Target's website it says that it would give me $13 so if I multiply that by 3 it would just be $39 not the $53.58 you listed above.  How did you come up with those prices above?

This might be related to what I posted about earlier in the thread.  There are rumors on other forums that Target corporate realized they screwed up and adjusted down prices starting today so they aren't losing tons of money.  Have not gone to the store myself to validate it though.  There are a lot of people that have gone in and traded in 5-8 newer games and gotten like $250-450 USD already!

What soulfly666 said must have been true, then, because I checked myself when I first heard the promotion for Black Flag on PS4 and it was $17 before tripling the value. Now it's showing $11.39. Those bastards.
