I have both systems, but still may get it for the PS3, for what you may consider to be not so obvious reasons.

But for me, its a no-brainer.

Can you explain these not so obvious reasons? You have peaked my curiosity.

Keep in mind this is all my opinion , and should not be taken as fact, but here are my reasons for buying it for the PS3, even though I do admit that the DLC is an advantage.

1. I have had all previous versions on PS platforms, it is familiar, and seems like a Sony game now and forever.

2. Online is free, and any non exclusive content will have the advantage in this department. (really not an issue for me though, as I pay for XBL. It just helps my cause is all)

3. Hardware reliability/ my 360 sounds like a weedwacker.

4. Sony Accomplishments/ Home integration/ rumble will negate any other XBL advantages.

5. I love the look and feel of a Blu-Ray disc. I feel like I am getting more for my money when compared to a dvd

Also, This DLC will extend the game but until we know how much, and for what cost- I am not getting to excited about it. Also, as the owner of both consoles, the decision still could sway. Right now I would get the PS3 version, but if the DLC somehow adds more geographical space in the game, (like another island) or adds 5 hours of gameplay (which it might) or the technical specs are in any way better for one over the other- than the decision would also be effected.

We know the games are supposed to be virtually identicle, but this hardly ever seems to be the case with anything multiplat so far except for maybe COD4.

The decision is one not to be taken lightly, and I can't wait for the game regardless.

@ultraslick

I would buy the 360 version. From the previous rumours it looks like GTAIV has 4 of the 5 sections of New Y..cough.... Liberty city. It looks very much like part of the DLC will be the fifth section. That would justify a 360 purchase over a Ps3 purchase EASILY.

Yes, I agree it would.  If that were the case, My entire list would pale in comparison.

I guess I sort of expect the DLC to be a pair of overalls or something

Lol....that would be a 50 million dollar pair of overalls.

I'll definatly be getting this for the PS3, sorry nothing against the 360

Besides these 2 episodic downloads, theres absolutly no difference between the 360 and the PS3 version.

PS3 just seems the better buy to me... I enjoy the BluRay Disc as well...And if Rockstar gives the option of being able to install GTA4 to the PS3 Hard Drive i'll be in heaven :)

Plus the Home intregation (If any!)

So in other words...Which system you get it on doesn't matter, its just all preference...Its only 2 episodes, not like its a completly different experience ya know

With the way this game looks the 360 is definitely the choice for open world games like GTA4.

can't wait till someone posts videofeeds

I would give a damn if they would state what the content is, how much it costs, and if it's worth buying. I've never bought an add-on pack in my life so I think i'll pass on this.

So your reasons for choosing the PS3 version are:

1- It's on a Blu-Ray disc (as opposed to one DVD)

2- You may be able to install the game to the hard drive

3- There may be some integration with Home (which was never mentioned by anyone except you)

While the 360 version:

1- Will have extra content that you can only play on the 360

I'm convinced ;)

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

16million userbase... 7mil copies purchase MS would probablly want to make a profit 60mil divide by 7 about 5-10 dollars for the add on or two. 70-80 dollars for how much extra??? With these figues i assume everyone will buy the DLC.

NJ5 calm down buddy...

I simply stated that besides those 2 episodes, there is absolutly no difference between the GTA4 on the PS3 or the 360.

Those reasons about BluRay/Home/HDD are obviously my opinions, as I stated in the quote you pasted. 'If Rockstar gives that option to install to a HDD, If Home takes advantage'

They are just personal reasons, can no one have their own personal reason why they choose a game on a certain console without being attacked? I didnt' say this is what everyone should do...

I thought I would come in the thread and share my opinion, those are the reasons I'm buying it. Obviously most people will buy it for the 360 for the episodic content, Awesome no big deal. This is why I hardly post in forums, people always have to attack everyones opinion they disagree with
