Forums - Sony Discussion - Driveclub Trailer Confirmed in Game Running in Real Time, HQ version Coming

After the reveal of the new Driveclub trailer many wondered if it was actual in-game footage running in real time, and the newly appointed game director Paul Rustchynsky decided to shed some light on the issue.

Not only Rustchynsky confirmed that the trailer is in-game footage running in real time, but he also promised that a high quality feed for the trailer is being “sorted out” for those that don’t want to have their visual bliss held back by YouTube’s terrible quality.

In addition to this, “Rushy” (as apparently even his bosses call him) dashed the hope of the creatives among us, stating that no circuit editor will be included in the game.

While that’s unfortunate, considering the incredible level of detail we’ve seen in Driveclub’s environments, it would probably be hard to implement something like that. I can’t say I wouldn’t have loved to play around with those beautiful assets, though.

I assumed as much, and the game is definitely a looker. Very pretty
Hope it turns out great fun to play too for all the PS4 fans waiting for a racer

Shit, they sure have put the extra development time to good use in the visual department o_o Glad to see they've invested in some better AA too, rather than whatever that previous crap was.

Sadly, my interest for this and all other driving games ends at the visuals :/

All hail the first real racing sim of this gen.

I retract my previous statement. Apparently this doesn't have actual weather effects either.

Still waiting for the first racing sim then.

Well, and they said that it doesn't compete with Gran Turismo because the car handling isn't simulation like...

Maybe Project CARS is what you're looking for.

Thanks Rushy... give me more direct feed footage.

They did aim for both though.
