Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So, what does QoL platform means for Wii U? Life or death?

Quality of Life for Wii U...

It means life 4 36.36%

It will take its life 7 63.64%

Total:11

I know is better to wait for E3 or whatever event they announce it, but let's especulate.

What does Quality of Life newest Nintendo platform will mean for Wii U?

Maybe QoL will help the Wii U to sell better as Nintendo needs to market the product and consumers will find other products from the same company, like the Wii U.

Or maybe if it sells good Nintendo will focus on this and let the Wii U die quietly.

One theory can say this is a third pillar, a proof of the Wii U's failure. Other one, that "casuals" efforts can be focused on this QoL and left only traditional games for the homeconsoles.

Let's also imagine that if the QoL performs good enough Nintendo can finish their homeconsole line and merges with the handhelds. This means an hybrid handheld and a QoL for future generations.

What do you think?

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Here are my thoughts:

1. QoL sucks. So hard that it hurts the whole company. The trust in Nintendo is away and with that also the Wii U has a bad time. Nintendo will have to react and will try to forget about it and will concentrate on new projects. It means death for the Wii U.

2. QoL is great...too great. Nintendo doesn't do the same mistakes: Great advertisement. Everybody understands it. But then nobody is talking about the Wii U. Nintendo will concentrate on their money making QoL platform and won't invest in a death system, the death of the Wii U.

3. QoL is great and it brings a lot of people to the Wii U with a great strategy to connect every system which is made by Nintendo. A lot of people will want QoL and a Wii U, the market will change. Long life the Wii U!

But the most likely possibility is (4.) that QoL won't have an effect on the Wii U. Nintendo can do right or wrong. We have to wait.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

For all we know so far it means as much for wii u as sony's other divisions means to playstation.

Well... If QoL enhances my sexual experience then great! It will be a wild success! If its targeted towards hospitals and old people, then it might be a success but if its just another wii fit U. Then it will be a flop

I'm considering QoL as an entirely separate product with totally different functions form wiiU and 3DS - but with some console integration.

They're trying to sell something that's not as cyclical as a gaming device.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Nothing at all. The QOL platform will be a separate thing, and it won't affect the Wii U or the 3DS at all.
