Actually, some leaks so far have suggested a butchering. We know that Disney has decanonized the books set after the original trilogy, so it's likely that they're going to redesign or possibly even completely get rid of characters that we love from that time period. Doesn't neccessarily mean that the new movies will be bad, but it's not exactly good news either. I do have hope for the new movies, but I fear that I will be disappointed. 

Perhaps scarier is the fact that Disney gave EA the game license, some good may come out of it, particularly the Star Wars RPG that Bioware is developing, but there will likely be alot of bad too. I'm particularly concerned about Star Wars Battlefront, there's a significant chance that DICE is just repackaging Battlefield with a Star Wars skin instead of properly reviving the Battlefront series.


That was good news. The expanded universe is a mess. This gives them more focus.

As far as SWTOR goes, you have my firm disagreement. I love it, but EA was quick to kill any meaningful support for it.

I have no expectations for Star Wars anymore. If it ends up being watchable I will be pleased.

As for Pixar I am hopeful they manage to get original films in along with this wave of sequels after an era of unique projects.
