I'm not sure about this. Gauntlet always seemed more like the kind of game that's most fun on the couch with a few buddies.

Sort of a beer and pretzels game. As a PC game with... assumingly only online co-op....

From the press release

"With Gauntlet we combined the arcade style of the original game with an entirely new look and feature set that includes emergent, local and online four-player gameplay,"

They also specificaly mention SteamOS/Machines

And presumably LAN. (I don't have my hopes up!)
However, most people have multiple PC's in their home these days,  be it Desktop or Laptop, so some fun Romps can be potentially had!

I played the crap out of Gauntlet: Legends on the Nintendo 64 in high school at the LAN parties.
I also have Gauntlet on the Origional Xbox on my Xbox 360.

So I do look forward to it!

The 1985 game was on PC, ran through DOS.

So this is actually the first Gauntlet game in almost 30 years to arrive on the PC, provided you ignored emulation.
