And what you said means nothing unless you give a reason why *rollseyes*

LBP is good but is too floaty to be considered the best platformer. There is a few indies that are superb like SuperMeatBoy and BattleBlockTheater though. Even then DKC and Rayman are still at the top of the pack in my opinion.

Who said best? I certainly did not, I said merely better for visuals.
Why is it better than those indie games though? As I have said, other games have done far better in other catagories and frankly, DKC could have come out 7 years ago. The fact that it has just come out is laughable. It brings nothing new to the table on top of being late to the party. For that I would instantly cap it at a 5/10.

It's better than Braid and Limbo because those games are more puzzle games than platformer. Once you know the puzzles, they have zero replayability.
Next question.

But they are more progressive in aesthetics and new gameplay.
Also as I said, why could this have not come out 7 years ago?

Because the Wii U didn't come out until 2012. Duh! Also--Dat Fur
*edit*
Really, what game couldn't have come out 7 years ago? I have a PS4 with Outlast, Tomb Raider, Resogun, DCU Online. All of them could be done on the Xbox 360 or PS3. The thing about good game design is that it's good regardless of hardware. Every game doesn't have to break new ground. As a big fan of XBLA games, I grabbed a ton of platformers. Some were incredible (like 'Splosion Man) but they aren't on DKC's level. I got Rayman Origins, too--not Legends yet--and that game is about on par but that's also a full retail game and worth every penny. It didn't reinvent the wheel. It's just GOOD.
