Forums - Sony Discussion - The PSP Go is awesome!

So we all know that the PSP Go flopped hard. Nobody wanted that thing, everyone kept complaining about no UMDs and blah. But fuck dat, I am here to tell you that the PSP Go is awesome! A big reason for that is homebrew. With my PSP Go, I have access to almost every game ever made for Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Game Gear, NES, SNES, Master System and PSX. On top of that, there are some Arcade Emulators and even a DOS Box! So you literally can choose from 10.000+ different games. And then there are of course PSP Games! Sure, you don't have a UMD Drive, but with Homebrew, you don't care about that. Hacking that thing is easy as hell, takes about 5 minutes. Afterwards, you just play every game you like from an ISO. Well, of course you need another PSP to rip a certain game. Because just downloading them would be illegal... and stuff... :P

Ok, enough games to get you entertained for all eternity. What else is there? Well, the thing is small as fuck! Literally. The original PSP? Pretty damn big, you can't fit that thing into most pockets. The Go on the other hand even fits in very small pockets. It's small and thin, just perfect for a handheld. And you still get a beautiful 3,8" screen. That's 4 times bigger as the GBA Micro! The hardware of that thing is just superb. And let's not forget it also can handle dem grfxx quite well! Many PSP games are easily on the same graphical level as the 3DS. But there ain't no 3DS this small. Let alone with that phenomenal homebrew support.

And let's not forget about Multimedia! The PSP Go is awesome to watch movies or some episodes of your favourite show. It's really great, when slided in, the PSP Go is really nice to hold, you just need one hand. Or you just let it sit somewhere. To handle all that, you get 16 GB of internal memory! Ain't enough? Throw in another 16 GB with a memcard if you like. That way, you can store the ENTIRE LIBRARY of GB, GBA, NES and SNES and you still have 20 GB left. Throw some music at the thing. It plays MP3 just fine and the soundchip is quite decent. You might need an amplifier if you like higher volume. Like to hear with the speakers? You have stereo speakers which are better than even the speakers of most highend Smartphones! It also saves battery on your smartphone if you just use a PSP Go. 20+ hours while listening to music isn't a problem for that little wonder of a handheld.

Don't like dem MP3s? Again, homebrew is your friend. Go for FLAC or whatever format you like. No problem at all. The same is true for almost every video format. The PSP Go handles them all. Oh yeah, you also have podcasts, Internet radio and a (not so great, but yeah) Internet browser. The only letdown here is the WLAN of the PSP. Not only is it slow as shit, it also doesn't support WPA2. So it's mostly very oldschool, you download your stuff and most of the time just don't go online with the thing.

How about gaming on your TV? No problem, hook that sucker up and connect your Dualshock 3 via Bluetooth! Yeah, that's right, you can use dat awesome PSP Go as a home console if you like! You might also want to use bluetooth to connect Bluetooth headphones or something. It's all there!

So, yeah, that is kind of my way to say thank you to the PSP Go. I bought it at release for 249 € (!) and don't regret a single cent of that. It's quite frankly in my opinion the greatest handheld of all time. I love it so much, I use it more than my Vita. Mostly because of no homebrew on the Vita and because the Vita is so effin BIG! So if you have a chance to get a PSP Go sometime, you definitely should get it! It only does everything, I'm not kidding!

And yes, this thread is very neccessary! Any other PSP Go Lovers out there?
