i'd like to suggest a game to rpg newcomers & veterans.
Etrian Odyssey 3, 4, or Untold

Maybe it'd be worth picking games on older consoles, so there's a better chance of them being available through emulation or e-Shop (or, if you have to buy them physically, they'll at least be cheap)?

So I'm going to leave this thread open for the rest of the day. If you guys are interested in the club, please either post or message me what systems you own so I can keep track of the common denominators.

Do people think each game should be determined by majority vote, or should a different member get to pick a game of his/her choice each month?

a majority vote would still require someone (you) to create a seed list.  i'm not playing that +1/-1 game each month against the entire catalog of games that has ever existed.  on the other hand, if users get to pick games beware of their tastes.   the fastest way to have the club collapse on itself is to ask people to play games that suck.

personally, i think you should pick the games.   if you act like a leader people will follow.  if you act like a team-member the group is likely to flounder under a lack of direction.   obviously be mindful of the community and pick things that will be popular and don't be afraid to change your pick if there is too much complaining but ultimately you should just pick.   i mean, if it was good enough for oprah...    besides, i'm sure the community will be kind enough to offer up suggestions on this they'd like to play together.

It sounds like a great idea. A good way for some of us to try something we probably wouldn't try otherwise.
