Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Talked my mom into getting a Wii U

My mom is 70 years old. She has my old Nintendo and would play that almost every night until she beat the first Super Mario Brothers. She was 65 when she beat the game for the first time. Boy she was excited. She ran to my room screaming in joy. She made me watch her play from the beginning till she beat it again.

Last year I decided to buy her a 3DS XL along with New Super Mario Brothers 2. It took her just a couple of weeks till she beat it. Bought her the first New Super Mario Brothers for the DS after that.

Today my mom spoke to me and told me she wants to get a game system so she can exercise. At first I suggested she get an Xbox 360 with Kinect, but she kept insisting she wants a Wii. She's played one before and likes the bowling. So I told her to get a Wii U instead. It will get newer games and she can still play the old Wii games. She sounded content with that idea.

So now I'm searching for a good deal on Wii U consoles. She also wants the new Mario game for it. All I could find was the $299 bundle. Any good deals out there?

Also if anyone has any suggestions on games she may like and exercise games, would appreciate it.

First congrats... I would hope that my mom at lest knew something about videogames, anything at all.

This one for U$250, but I think she would like the Mario bundle more:

That may be the case. But she does love her Mario. She loves to entertain her grandkids with the Mario games and show them how good she is on them. They always ask her to beat levels for them when they get stuck or scared of the bad guys.

Nintendo... bringing families together through mario

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Mario bundle is best value since it comes with two mario games she'll certainly like.
WiiFit U is also now for sell and it has great improvements, plus the fit meter.
WiiSportsClub is also pretty cool and she'll be able to play with peeps online.

So buy her Wii U for $299 (no sales I can think of)
Wii Fit U for whatever it costs
and at least the bowling DLC for Wii Sports Club.

She'll be set.

Your Mum is cool, i have a gamermum too and shes addicted to Bomberman.
