Forums - Nintendo Discussion - A biased review: Bravely Default

Always appreciate your reviews Rol. Since I live in the US, I don't want to read the spoilers, but it's disappointing if true.

Well damn. That's a disappointment. Guess I'll be saving my money on this one.

That's...well. Dunno what to say. I wanted this game. I'm pretty sure I would like it regardless, but wow. That seems a very borefest part.

Don´t just listen to a single source and base your opinion on it, other poeple are loving it (I´m only around 16 hours in and absolutely in love with it).

His negatives are all valid. (aside from the "unacceptable story part")

BUT !!!

If you play it a bit more casually, you really won´t break the game. You have to keep in mind that he really like the Etrian Odyssey games, a series where you pretty much have to make the game your bitch to play through the very hard parts.

The story and characters (aside from the admittedly slightly bland Tiz) are pretty cool, the dark undertones interwoven in the story are a nice change of pace.

(I was really surprised what was happening)

This isn´t a 6.5 game. imo

Thanks Rol, I've been looking forward to this. I won't read the spoiler text, as I think I'll still buy the game. "Gameplay: Self-destructive" is a good one. XD

I didn't know exactly how the SP system functioned, 1 SP for 8 hours with a cap at 3 sounds awful. Good thing Bravely Second is completely unneeded.

You noted the sound was great, I take it you liked the music? And the voice acting was decent?

Good review as usual. I have a feeling I know what the spoiler tag is despite the fact Ive yet to play the game, but if it is what I think it is, then I can see why you'd consider it a "chore" almost. But still, isn't that quite near the end if it's what I think it is, and can't you just "skip" to the end anyway?

I could be way off the mark here though. Guess I should read the spoilers, but damn I don't want to!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I have a hard time thinking of another game that destroys itself so hard in the later phases. The dropoff in quality of story and pacing is mindboggling. It goes from "Wow, this is pretty cool." to "I am not sure if I want to finish this." Regardless, by the time you hit that point, you will probably feel that you've gotten your money's worth. But damn, is it bad.

Final Score: 6.5/10

So you think of the Bravely Default as a bad game, and you score it a 6.5/10.  You should change your scoring system to reflect a proper system and not conform to the overinflated system that's in use now.

I liked the demo so I will pick this up no matter what.

This is the only game I can think of that I want next year. I can't wait.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

I knew this game was gonna blow. When it was first announced I actually kept up with it but eventually stopped when I found myself never being excited about anything that was shown. It just looked boring and didnt help that the 4 warriors of Light guy's were behind this. 4 Warriors of Light was the game that made me say I'm done with DS JRPG's
