fire has always been my lean... I have noticed that fire tends to be by far the most under represented element in the game. I also get a Gyranados for water. I don't really use leaf pokemon ever...

Red- Charmander (the first time I played it back when I was 5. Dunno how many times i've resetted it though. Damn missingno)
Silver- Chikorita
Saphiere- Pretty sure Torchic
Diamond- Turtwig

So I guess I choose Fire/Grass.

Always fire, espiecially since charizard was so darn awesome.

Recently started as Piplup as starter, and he was pretty good.

Grass: Bulbasaur is the best :)

Water > Fire > Grass

I've usually started off with a fire type until Pearl. I couldn't resist Empoleon. Now that's a sexy penguin.

When I was a kid I'd usually pick water (first time, as I'd play through the games over and over and over and over...) But I've played through Blue/Silver plenty of times with each starter.

Eh....I think I chose the grass lizard first time I played Sapphire, and I chose Chimchar in Diamond (only played it once).
