These are all from Polygon when speaking to Geoff about the new show (VGX):

"This year the show's winners were told ahead of time they won so the winners could create their own acceptance videos."

"Rockstar Games are flying the entire Rockstar North development team into LA from Edinburgh, Scotland for the show."

"You'll see those running in the lead up to the show, inside the show and we will be doing game of the year as a live acceptance as well."


There's also a GTAV concert there.

And if you've taken a look at the Council Advisory that vote, there are 3 Polygon people there and 1 Official Xbox Magazine guy. (I had to throw it out there).

Ugh, lame. I do have to give rockstar credit for making one the most felxible games ever made. You can pretty much do anything in it, but it is far too crass for my tastes.

My vote for goty would probably go to bioshock infinite... Or the last of us. One of those two.

If the GOTY award will receive a live acceptance speech, then they don't have to make a video for it, which means they didn't have to be told ahead of time.

GOTY winner probably doesn't know.

Also, I hope GTAV does win.

Mario 3D world should win game of the year.

it was obvious it was going to win this award is basically bought not to mention the clear advantage any multiplat has. They want a show for ratings, even though TLOU deserves it, much more people have played and enjoyed GTAV. Millions more. This lets them appeal to a much larger audience.

wait..so when was the voting? last year it was up until it near the showing ofthe vga's(well vgx)

shame though...GTA V was a great game but TLOU was an absolute show stopper...but maybe we're in so an upset, I remember when everybody thought Black Ops was a shoe-in for the VGA's GOTY award and Uncharted 2 won it.

Your voting dont matter. It's the council advisory that chooses. It's always been like that. They let you vote for kicks.
