I dunno but from a business point of view Wii U is not overly successful and at the end its all about shareholder value. When a platform doesn't seem to reach a critical mass instalment base its hard to sink more money. Nintendo may be a company dedicated to gamers with heart and soul, but as I said before shareholder can easily be a person who absolutely hates everything about games and he/she only wants to have a profit from their investment.
I saw it coming, don't get me wrong not that I wanted Wii U to be a disappointment, but worst console launch ever I think:
1. Wrong name
2. No Advertising at all, why??
3. Deadly launch window, should've been released at the same time as the other big consoles
4. Specs are not next gen
5. You believe this tablet controller is innovative and special. Developers believe in Profit and not Creativity first, which means nobody has the will to really develope content for the innovative concept
6. Second screen does not support many games, thought first, every game could be played on the tablet controller while somebody else's watching TV
7. You guys say Halo, Gears, Forza, I say Mario, Zelda, dunno
Every successful console is good for us, but Wii U is doomed as the definition of Doom
