"The first five million are going to buy it (PS3), whatever it is, even [if] it didn't have games." (David Reeves on the PS3 launch, 2007)

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I wish you were right my friend however your information is wrong. I tried again today and not a single Xbox One anywhere to be found. Hate to burst your bubble but when I went to pick up my PS4 at the Chester County, PA Best Buy at 12:30AM release night the crowed that had pre-ordered already left and there were only a few of us in the store. The store had an entire palet full of extra PS4s that were not pre-ordered right behind the customer service desk. When I arrived same time on Xbox One release there was also nobody left in the store and the crowed left. Only diff was there were no extra Xbox Ones for sale other then pre-orders. Now I'm not saying one sold better then the other or XB1 for the win. I'm simply statng my personal experiance. I assume the Best Buy simply had a higher alocation of PS4 for sale over and above their pre-orders then MS allocated. I'm also not saying that PS4s are in stock around where I live and Xbox One is not. I did not ask any of the stores if they had PS4s in stock today since I already got mne on release night. Just that THERE ARE NO XBOX ONES sitting around in any stores in my area for purchase. If you do find some anywhere in Chester County PA area please don't hesitate to post here so I can run down there and pick it up.

John

Will pick a flight there to get all this PS4 sitting there.

BS, Major nelson and MS have SAID there is plenty of x1 stock available....Here most stores have multiple consoels still. MS split up their lauynch because they knew they could not match sony in NA, so they launched in 13 countries to try to make it sound like they are in as much demand.. MS sold 500-600K max and never sold out in NA.....The damand is NOT has highe for x1.

Fact is, if Sony launched in the same number of countries, they would have sold a lot more then MS.

Also wrong about PS beng around longer being relevant. Nintendo has been around way longer then both, yet wii-u is not selling much at all... Business is what have you done for me lately type of deal. Sony keeps PS relevant and strong.

Really? Where and when did they say that? Also, where are they available? I have a few friends who are looking to pick one up.

PS being around longer has a lot to do with. They built a big fanbase due to it; especially during the PS2 era. The experiences offered on the Nintendo consoles differs from the experience offered on the PS and Xbox. Nintendo tried to replicate their success from the wii by offering another new type of console gaming experience. They took a risk with the tablet and so far it does not have the success of it's predecessor.

MICROSFT said themselves they have stock available... GO to any forum, look on web sites, people are seeing many x1's still in stores..the x1 is in stock at a lot of places with multiple boxes left....The demand is NOT there like it is for PS4.

The best part is this people thinking that Sony put all the units they had to NA and will send 2 weeks of production for Europe... if that was the case and next week we see a launch bigger than 500k there and some more ks in NA then we can be relieved because Sony will meet demand really fast producing 1M+ per month right now (I don't think the factories are anywere close to 500k month right now, still refining production process).

Xbox One in its current state will surely get destroyed by the PS4 in every market. Just like the expensive PS3 tanked at launch, in comparison to the 360. The market however is not static. Changes will take place. I want to see what happens in the US & UK market when a significantly cheaper "kinectless" Xbone releases in 2014. All things considered, I expect Microsoft to loose market share this gen, but they will make adjustments to remain competitive.

Both companies shipped over 1 million units, and sold over 1 million. Congrats to both.

I'd say be super impressed with the PS4. The Xbox One still did great, but there were still some left after day one and two.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Any forums? Yea... so where exactly did MS say this? I have checked sites; other than ebay and half.com, all the major retailers list it as sold out on line. I'm sure it will be coming in and out of stock until demand is met. So forgive me if I don't take random forum posters' claims that there are many Xbox One's in stores everywhere.

It's more along the lines of how the supply is allocated; Sony allocated a certain number to NA launch and they have allocated a certain number to launches elsewhere. Where did anyone claim that Sony sold all their stock in the NA launch? I doubt anyone on this forum has the exact information of when production started on each system, the amount produced, and how much they each had for launch. So unless we have more information, it is really hard to claim otherwise.

The fact is they both sold around a million units at their initial launches; other than nitpicking the little things, one million units for one company is not greater than one million units for another company. Xbox sold well over what most on this site hoped for; the only reason to downplay this is based on one's agenda and bias.
