Forums - Sony Discussion - Gamestop still selling Vita?

So i went to my local gamestop to preorder a link between worlds and a couple of other games, figured since i was there i would pick up a vita game. When i got there the entire vita section was gone, replaced with the PS4 section, and there wasn't a single vita console(handheld?) that they were selling. In fact i checked the entire store and the only had one vita game to sell, Little Big Planet on the used bin. The only real Vita related stuff they had up front, were the memory cards. When i asked the employee there he pretty much told me that they had kept everything vita related in the back, apparently they got rid of it to make space for the Xbox One and PS4.

An interesting thing to note was how much PSP stuff was still there, they had 6 of them displayed up front, and an entire section devoted to used PSP games/movies.

I checked a gamestop near my friend's house and it was the same thing, vita section gone and replaced with PS4. Anyone experiencing something like it at their nearby gamestop?

I was just at 2 of my local Gamestops today and they both had Vita sections but they were small. They did have a lot of games for it however which was cool.

No, actually recently I've noticed stores have better vita sections. The 2 Gamestops near my house have a full vita section, with most of the games and some accessories. A couple months ago Toysrus had no vita section, the Bestbuy had a practically empty not updated section and Target had a small section. A week ago I realized toyrus now has a small section, Bestbuy has a medium sized section that has the latest games, and Target has a small updated section.

PSP has been 100% dead where I live for a while, can't find psp's or games on shelves.

Oh well that's good to hear, guess my gamestop just sucks then. Asked about dragon's crown and they been sold out for a while... same for Killzone merc and muramasa....

I've been to three different Gamestops recently and, while I was able to get Thd Walking Dead, the Viga ain't looking so good. Less than 10 games on display at any of them. Local Wal-Mart, too.

The one near me has a really small vita section... And I mean really small... The DS section is more bigger than the vita section... Step up your game Sony

The last I went to GameStop to try to pick of Vita games (P4G, and Dragon's Crown), this was back during the Summer. The Vita section was pushed to the very back corner with PS3 accessories. They also didn't have those two games. I bet now it looks even worse. I'll check by next time I'm there. Like you said, they're making room for next gen. I just buy my Vita games on Amazon because I know bigger places like Wal-Mart have nothing in terms of selection.

Edit: Unrelated, but your sig is the best, lol!

Ye amazon really is the best, but every now and then when i go to gamestop, i just see the box art of one game and it gets my attention... so i end up buying it if i have the cash. Not the same feeling with amazon for me however...

I always drive past there, so I like to go in and browse once every month. Went in there once and played PSASBR on Vita while the guy was ringing up someone else and I had a blast. I decided right then to pick it up for 20 dollars, I had no intent to buy it beforehand. They get you like that.

Did you ask an employee? I had the same problem. But when I asked they directed me to a shelf in the middle of the store on the back side of the used PSP game shelf. But they are totally getting rid of PSP games in the next few months ( buy them cheap while you can!) then they will have more shelf space for the Vita, which they said was a huge seller now.
