Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One to be manufactured in Brazil!

Brazilian girls are hot. Just the thought of a Brazilian hottie touching my big black beast and sticking it in the box, excites me.

Off topic: The new 360 models are cheap little pieces of shit. I bought one because I thought it would feel next gen by design. Boy was I wrong. The power and eject button are hard to press. They aren't touch based and don't make sounds anymore when pressed. Video out redesigned so older video out options aren't available anymore, such as the VGA adapter. These are the first 360s that actually took a few steps back, considering how every 360 model before that added new features and better build quality. Now the original Xbox 360 slim, love, love, LOVE IT! It'd the definitive 360 model to have.

I am disspointed in both the 'Super Slims' of the PS3 and 360.  They both dropped optical audio, PS3 you have to manually open the disk tray, etc.

Dissapointd to hear about the build.  Kind of a shame really.

(Hugs my 360S model)

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

With the assemble of Xbone here in Brazil it will increase the price by R$100... so the new price will be R$2300.

That's what I get here.

Seems like only the few preorders are R$2200... any buy after November 22 will cost R$2300.

Controller: R$260
Charger Kit: R$150
Controller + Charger Kit: R$390

Iam sure they will be made in more then one country

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

good for them

Did you know ps4 only supports a 2.4 wireless signal?

The xbox one supports a wireless adapter capable of 2.4 - 5.0ghz.

The ONLY next gen console to do so.

I meant the Xbox One in brazil is more expensive than the ones in other nations by far.

Sony probably only manufactured PS3's in Brazil because of taxes and not because of the efficiency of the manufacturing industry in Brazil. This is bad from a global perspective because for one it encourages similar policies by other nations, the local industry now has less reason to become more efficient to compete, foreign manufactures lose business despite being better at it and the Brazillian PS4 gamers now have to pay more because their local and less efficient industry has a monopoly.

And yes the tariffs that the USA has are harmfull to the Brazil export industry, along with many other nations, and all they do is allow for inneficient industries in local nations to aviod competing with competitive ones overseas. Brazil should be looking to reduce the barriers to manufactuing locally rather than slapping taxes on imports. But other nations can always add more sadly.

Except it isn't.  Not by far.

In Australia:  $50/$48.10 (US)
In the UK:  £80/$129.33 (US)
In the EU:  €100/$138.10 (US)
In Canada:  $100/$96.16 (US)
In the US:  $100/$100 (US)
Total difference:  $511.69 (US)

Difference in Brazil:  $833 (US)

You'd litterally have to add up the differences in all the markets Microsoft is launching* the Xbox One in to justify the price difference in Brazil, and you're still not coming close, mean while you're still getting Kinect in every box.  So even in those markets where there is a higher cost, you're getting something for the extra expense.

In Brazil gamers aren't getting anything more when they're being asked to pay $833 more for a console with fewer features.

*Note:  The Xbox One launches in both Mexico and New Zealand, however Sony is not or I can't find a price for the PS4 there.

You obviously didn't look very hard. In NZ PS4 $649, Xb one $748

Those prices include sales taxes. Convert Xb one price to Brazilian Real and that's 1358.36 that makes Xb one in Brazil about 75% more expensive than in NZ. PS4 is a lot worse, but Brazilians are being shafted on both consoles.

I think you need to re-read my sentence that you bolded.  The PS4 doesn't launch in New Zealand until 2014.  I matched markets where consoles were launching at the same time as the Xbox One.

Also you completely neglected this statement:  In Brazil gamers aren't getting anything more (from Sony) when they're being asked to pay $833 more for a console (PS4) with fewer features (compared to the Xbox One).

Parenthetical comments added for clarification.

The Xbox One price is R$2300 (according to EThomaz).  At the current exchange rate (See) that is $1053.  Where you came up with $1353.36 is beyond me.  It has never been that, nor close to it.  The current price for the PS4 in USD is $1,831.33.  Still nearly $800 more than the Xbox One.

The point I'm trying to make is that price differences between one country and another are reasonable to understand.  Currencies exchange at different rates and taxes are different (i.e. US/Canada/Mexico don't include tax in the retail price), European countries and others around the world do.  Those things are fair differences.  But Sony is asking consumers in Brazil to pay nearly $800 in more for a console.  That's not reasonable.  That's not a negligiable increase in price for features that the other guy isn't including.  It's paying more for the sake of paying more.

Dude, I live in New Zealand. PS4 launches the same day as it launches in the UK. What you are seeing on these websites is that all launch PS4's were sold out a few months back, so people have to secure 2nd shipment PS4's by pre-ordering, and 2nd shipment doesn't come until 2014. Do you research.

Can you even read? If you read with a little thought you'll see I converted the NZD price ($748) to Brazilian Real, which is 1358. That was to show relativity between what I pay and what the box sells for in Brazil. Why you thought I was converting the Brazilian price to USD is beyond me.

Exchange rate is not the difference when what I pay for Xb one is 75% less than what someone in Brazil pays. It's taxes and tariffs that's the difference and those are unfair.

I did address your statement, by saying that people who buy PS4 are being shafted a lot worse than people who by Xb one, but that both are being shafted.
