All PS3 Digital Content (Including GTA5) Might Carry Over to PS4 According to Report from PlayStation Meeting

According to the Twitter account of the Basildon GAME Store Sony announced during a PlayStation Meeting in the UK that All PS3 digital content will Carry Over to PS4.

When questioned on the reliability of the news, the Twitter account specified that they only relayed what they were told by Sony.

They further clarified by mentioning specifically that all downloaded games will be available on the PS4.

Even more surprising, it seems that the deal isn’t just related to PSN Only games, but even much bigger games like Grand Theft Auto V, when purchased digitally.

On the other hand, we don’t know if non-gaming content will get the same treatment.

Of course this has to be considered as a rumor to take with an enormous until an official announcement is made, but it would definitely groundbreaking news if proven true. Personally, it’s hard to believe that a GAME employee would risk his job to play a prank, and you can be sure that head would roll if this was proved to be misinformation.

So either this has at least some truth in it, or some presented at Sony UK made a really big mistake, or Basildon’s GAME’s Twitter account might have been hacked, I guess.

Waiting for official annoucement, because i think something is missing....

But I thought that Sony said it wouldn't be possible to play any PS3 games, discs or digital on the PS4, because it's an enterily different architecture and it would only be possible some day with Gaikai streaming the games. And now this?

Is this really saying that you will able to play all your digital PS3 games on PS4 day 1 or what?

This doesn't seem right. As colafitte mentioned above, something is missing here.

Doubt it. If true however, Xbone and Wii U fans say goodbye to a chance to win next gen.

-With Gaikai in 2014-/ (Possibly hinting at an earlier start date for europe and/or UK)
-On your PS4 whole download list just like on Vita, you can view every game you bought, but not play them)

Highly unlikely. Will they sit down to port everything over? nope. Will the PS4 be able to emulate the PS3? nope (it would play PS3 games if it would be backwards compatible)

So its more of a rumor than news.

Some special games might get that treatment but not most.

And gaikai wont work for PS3 games  that would mean a PS3 equivalent thing is playing it and streaming it to you. Way to expensive.

They must mean digital movies and music purchased on PS3 will work on PS4, which is expected.
