umm yeah

Your response is in no way sufficient to me.  What makes the games deserve nearly perfect scores?

Because people think it's nearly perfect.

Isn't a reviewer supposed to try to be as impartial as possible?  And according to how many peoples reviews of other games, there are many places where a game like GTAV can lose points.

I'm wondering... do GTA games really deserve the scores they get?

umm yeah

Your response is in no way sufficient to me.  What makes the games deserve nearly perfect scores?  MANY great games don't even pass 90.  Fire Emblem: Awakening BARELY passed 90.  Kid Icarus: Uprising didn't even get close to 90, though I think it completely deserves 90 or higher if GTA deserves to be the highest rated games in video game history for nearly every iteration.

Different tastes, those games you mentioned don't carry the weight, or are not as mindblowing as a game like GTA are at the time at launch. Hype has a lot to do with the scores as well. More mainstream games tend to get higher scores anyways.

Depends on what impartial means. If you mean to avoid letting things other than the actual game (such as platform preference, etc.) hinder their judgement of the game, then yes. Doing so would allow them to judge the game clearly. But their judgement of the game is always going to be ultimately subjective.

Not really sure what to say to that second sentence. I'm sure GTAV could lose points too, depending on the reviewer's tastes.

Core elements do carry weight.  You think that they can be looked over just because it's GTAV?  And what you said is exactly the reason why I'm asking if it really deserves the score.

Some things should be overlooked because of the massive scale of the game that very few (if any) games can match. And despite having such a large scale it manages to do be innovative, fresh and still manages to do so much of it right, one is forced to be a little less harsh when reviewing the game. But at the end of the day it all boils down to taste...just as you like games like Fire emblem and Kid Icarus and I personally don't enjoy them.

And the only reason why I didn't give a proper explanation before is there is no point repeating what has already been said 1000 times.

How to upgrade your GTA grapics and make it more realistic.

Make sure your brightness look like this.

When you Config the brightness in GTA, Whether you see the logo clearly or not, do not adjust it to the logo.

The first 1 layer needs to be pure black,_________ the second layer slighlty different,__________ just slighty so you can notice it.

Now you save the new settings and see it for yourself.

Amen (this works for all games thads made with realism)

"The PlayStation 3 version of the game is slightly less impressive than the 360 version, with enough terrible problems, glitches and annoyances to drop its score by a single point."

What a load of bullshit

House Garage or storage garage? You need to place them in a storage(garage) facility that you buy separately. If your placing them at your house they poof after a little bit. Same thing happened to me than I bought a garage to store my million dollar car.
