Sony has announced alot of good stuff for Consumers, especially with the PS Vita TV. PS4 Details in Japan as well as Game Announcments/Footage. The One thing that got me thinking was the new slimmer LCD Vita Model.


This new model of PS Vita will be available in all six colors (some new, some old) on October 10th in Japan for 18,980 Yen (or about $190).

The Thing is that it seems like the price is off by an equivalent of $10. Smart for them to put in a built in free memory with every purchase, Different colors, Smaller Price Point. Its One Thing, Specifically Wrong here that you guys have to notice.....

It Comes out two days before Pokemon XY!!! GE2 comes out a month later, why not do it then or at least do it end of sept? Is it me or launches it next to pokemon XY, the biggest release we'll probably ever see on handhelds this generation a big mistake?

Vita will have a boost, weither its from 10k-15k the week before then jump up to 30k-40k but it'll look rather small to 3DS's 250k+ Sales that release week. On top of that no new software comes out for Vita that week!!! Hence the reason a Nov Launch is much, much better IMO...

No. This isn't some "boost vita numbers 200%" move. It's to get a cheaper to manufacture vita into the market.

What difference does it make, as long as it releases before or concurrently with the God Eater 2 release?

Look at Vita Price cut in japan, it did it with a month of games and Vita Skyrocketed in Sales. You think it makes no difference Selling it right next to pokemon? Everyones eyes will be on pokemon sales + 3DS Major Hardware Boost outshadowing Vita Sales which will increase. IMO Nintendo Doing Price Cut for WiiU 3 Days After gta5 is a stupid idea as well. Yes there will be increases to both but overshadowed by far next to the 2 biggest releases of 2013!!!

Exactly. This isn't a price cut. Sony got rid of oled so now they can make more profit per vita. It would be similar to if Nintendo made the 2DS $160.

They also threw in 1GB of internal storage. This new model is far from being as cheap of a build as the 2DS, but yea. We'll have to wait for reviews on the LCD to see how big the downgrade is.

you kno wat, i think your right. If its a big downgrade however, Sony needs to not be greedy, cuz to me $10 cheaper wen they should of done a $30-$50 is plain mean (if its that much downgraded of course )

Are they discontinuing the OLED models?

OT: Is not like they do really have much space, MH4 releases this week, and the hype will probably last until Pokemon arrives, and then, 3DS will be on the spotlight until 2014.  So yeah, before Pokemon makes some sense.
