Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do You Think Nintendo Will Fund Wonderful 101 Sequel?

The gif below is from actual footage of Nintendo Executives discussing this very topic.

Yes, they wear skirts during meetings.

Hopefully, it finds more success in the Western territories and the fact is, if one executive likes the game enough with even moderate success a sequel is always on the table with certain companies. It is unlikely with Nintendo thought they did make sequels of Cing's adventure games Trace Memory/Another Code and Hotel Dusk/Last Window plus heck the Ace Attorney games on the GBA didn't sell that great and neither did the first few console incarnations of the Monster Hunter games.

The thing with Nintendo is they don't let sales weigh too much on if they will make a sequel to a game, at least not to the extent of other companies.  So the thing is this could go either way.

It doesn't look very promising but who knows, Nintendo has done crazier stuff.

Someone is a little desperate to trash an unreleased game I see..

What about the game bothers you so much that you need to act like its a failure worldwide with nothing to back those claims up
Sept 15 is the release date in US

Why trolls like you aren't banned is beyond me.
You cant wait to see what actual sales are because they might prove you wrong.
Oh Pikmin3 didnt bomb so you guys need something to latch onto

I also wonder how many times you've complained Nintendo needs new IPs only to react like troll when one is announced.

Wonder what would happen if I made a topic like "With the failure of Killzone will Sony fund another game"

Good to know sales matter though. Seems it was all about just being a good game when a certain company had bomb after bomb and was in 3rd place

Lol what are you talking about?  Did you even read the OP?  I said I liked the game.  I said the review scores are not up to the standard of Nintendo IPs, that is a FACT, not my opinion.  When did I say its a failure worldwide?  I said its not selling well, that is a FACT.  I think it sold something like 30k units in Japan.  You need to calm down, snapping at me for no good reason.

Depends if it does well in the long run. If we're judging right now with japan and europe(? not sure, just chart placement unless numbers are out already) numbers. It doesn't look likely since the game bombed in those regions. As for the U.S, not really sure. It does launch the same week as gta V which is a monster, but the targeted demographics might not overlap.

The game is not even out yet in one major region. Why are we speculating about this?

North America ain't saving this game.

True although, to be honest, short of a magical NA or European performance, if they do green light one, it would probably be on the 3DS, which aside from not being able to feature as nice graphics or as many characters, probably would do better just because of the platform.

We'll probably see a Platinum-developed Starfox before a W101 sequel.

Would love that, I think Platinum's style fits really good with Starfox.
