cant compete with free games that nickle and dime you to death and even $1 games that do the same.
plus apples store doesnt have as much free stuff making "purchases" appear less.

nothing like supporting the regression of gaming. also how do we know they are games? there are actual apps that do work things.

this story doesnt have enough info.

Nonesence... Look in the iOS and Android app store and you will see lots of quality titles priced at 2.99 - 9.99 that aren't free to play model and are on par with 3DS or PSVita games.

nope too stubborn. the word quality never crosses my mind with mobile games, it would lose its meaning.

I can respect that... I as well am too stuborn when it comes to many things.

Can't wait to see Q4.

Not overly surprised. After all, it's a growing market and I doubt the Vita scenario is helping.

What surprises me is that it wasn't the case in Q1. Or by a long way.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Aren't mobile gamers and dedicated handheld gamers two completely different markets? Mobile gaming is just so much more accessible since phones are necessary while 3DS and Vita aren't. People who want better experiences like me get this handhelds too and i'm sure there is a market for us. 3DS thinks so anyway and i think Vita can prove itself still.

And yes i tried mobile gaming (on an ipod touch) and for the most part it is utterly shit. I guess the PSP spoilt me.

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

When did you try it? As it really isn't utter shit at all.

Sure you have casual games that are great with touch screens and fun in their own right... things like Angry Birds, jetpack Joyride, Temple Run, Rayman Jungle Run.

But you have "core" gaming titles as well that have controller support and equal anything you will find on PSP or 3DS...stuff like GTA Vice city (PC port), Max Payne (PC prot), Xcom (HD console port), various Sonic games (same games as on PSN/XBL), Limbo, Crazy Taxi, Need For speed Most Wanted, Riptide and sequels, Dead Trigger, Dead Space, Infinity Blade 2... are all awesome games.

Saying mobile gaming will takeover handheld gaming is like saying Facebook games will takeover console games. Two completely different markets.

Desktop: AMD Phenom X4 955, ATI Radeon 7950 :: Laptop: Intel i7-3532QM, ATI Radeon 7670m

Consoles: 3DS XL, PS Vita, Zelda 3DS, PS3 Super Slim, DSi, PSP Go, PS3 Fat, Wii, GameCube, PS2

Now Playing: Metroid Prime 2, Dark Souls, Fallout: New Vegas, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Persona 4: Golden

Well... more people do have phones so... Nintendo and Sony are both doomed (The joke is more serious when people realize the vita is doomed either way)

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I honestly thought this happened a long time ago.

One can think this while we all watch the dedicated handheld gaming spend go down year over year and quarter over quarter...
