Then you better damn hope that the PS4 does not have a sluggish start. I can understand your situation, but not come back here crying that you blew $1000+ on PS4s and can't sell them.

you seem to think I'm going out just to sell them.  As I said in OP I fully intended on keeping it but damn are they going high.  I won't be cheap though.  I'll start the bidding at $1000 and if no one bids then I'll go ahead and enjoy KZ Shadowfall and my PS4 on launch day.  I'm only selling if I get some sick profit and considering how far we are from launch and I already see bidding going into the $800 range 6 hours before the auction is done I am hopeful.  If people have the money then more power to them.  Every man has his price and as long as I get one before too long (January should be fine) I won't miss it TOO much with GTA5, Ratchet Nexus, Beyond, Puppeteer, KH HD, Batman, Saints Row 4, and free Plus games to keep me busy.

I'm not saying that you should not do it, nor am I disapproving of your decisions or pursuading you not to do so. What I am trying to say is that you better be ready if things don't go according to plan.

that's why I'm starting it out at $1000 and not $1.  No real risk there from what I see.  Also waiting until actual payment to change order address of course lol.  It's a win win for me I'll have fun either way and no financial risk that I can think of.

If your initial intention is to buy a product but then you find out you can wait for it for a few months and make a few $100 by waiting then there is nothing at all wrong with that. That's just being smart in my opinion. Whichever way it turns out, you come out. You either have a PS4 at launch or some money in your pockets.

my thoughts exactly.  I'm not giving up early PS4 for $100 profit.  I'm starting the bidding high and seeing if anyone bites.  No risk there to get ripped off but I could double my investment if it goes well.  Also I could put that money towards a plasma for next gen gaming :)

Nothing wrong with trying to make a buck off it. But please don't make the mistake in thinking it is a risk free proposition though. Unless you are selling to someone you know and trust transactions can and do go wrong in these situations, at $1000 there will be quite a potential for a lot scammers seeking opportunity.

you only accept through paypal and don't do anything till the payment goes through to your account.

That's why you list it on eBay BEFORE you go buy it from the preorder. So you are buying it with someone else's money or simply cancel pre-order should it not sell on eBay.

As my friend found out that is no guarentee, if the account used for purchase is stolen the transaction can be reversed leaving you in a sh1tty position. While it may not end up costing you anything in the long run assuming you stick to all the policy rules you can end up with a lot of wasted time and time where you have neither money nor product.

his paypal account was hacked?  That sucks.  So the money was already transferred to him and someone took it back?
