Forums - Gaming Discussion - How much is it going to cost you for next gen launch?

So?

$400-$500 27 27.00%

$500-$600 22 22.00%

$600-700 14 14.00%

$700-$800 9 9.00%

$800+ 28 28.00%

Total:100

One million dollars.
One...million.

Around the Network

Ps4, Killzone, and ps+. SHIZ GOING DOWN. $500

A lot of members are actually getting consoles day 1. $800 doesn't seem so bad now compared to the few getting both at launch!

A lot.
$500 XB1 + Shipping + Taxes, so around $550
$270 3-4 launch games (leaning towards 4: Ryse, DR3, COD and Forza 4)
$100ish for "launch" cash for XBLA future games, or whatever arises on the digital market place in It's first month.
$23ish Headset (Probably going to get the cheap one to start, assuming they start off at $20. I'll hold off on more expensive madcatz like headsets till they drop a bit and reviews start pouring out)

Total damage around $950

I think I'm going to hold off on a extra controller for now to be just under 1 grand. Luckily I have 2+ years left on my Live account.

It's just that simple.

I have XBLG for another year or so and you get a free year with the Day One edition. I can't quote on this PC for some reason!

Are you sure about this?

That's 2 things I haven't taken into consideration! It connects via USB... Not 2.5mm jack like my current one. Damn!!

I'm not anymore. I was told this by my local retailer and saw it online also. I can no longer find it online and haven't been back to ask.

I'm still not sure if I will buy the PS4 at launch but if I did,

PS4 $400
Killzone Shadow Fall $60
PS+ $50

probably NBA 2K14 $60

probably a headset $100

Total: About $510/570/610/670 before taxes.

Edit: I'll consider getting plus before if they do another buy a year and get 3 months free deal. Yes, I'm aware the deal was there earlier in the year. Also, I may get a headset sooner rather than later at launch.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Wii U Launch was....

$350 Deluxe Wii U
$60 NSMBU
$60 ZombiU
$50 Batman AC: AE
$50 Pro Controller
$15 Trine 2

Subtotal = $585

+ 48.27 Tax (Texas has a 8.25% Tax)

Grand Total = $633.27

I guess you could say I'm getting 5 launch games in a sense, since KI is free... but my guess is it costs $50+ in the long run for all the stages, characters, sounds etc. Even more if you want that "Shadow Jago" aka buying a XBox Live year card. F that!

But...But next gen Minecraft :P Gotta have that XBLA (will they call it that this time around?) madness.

I already have rechargeable batteries, so I don't mind missing out on the play and charge kit.

I'm also considering a extended warranty through MS as well. Haven't heard the cost on that yet.
