Just bundle an extra game maybe but also increase the hard drive size for the same price.

Kinda' hard to increase the memory since they are using a flash drive!!! To be honest I don't understand why they chose such expensive storage option for the Wii U.

Price difference between a comparable 32GB and 64GB SSD is less than $20.

Should have 32 and 64 GB as standard.  32 = Virtual Boy and 64 = N64

What I'd do:

1. Add Nintendo Land to the Basic bundle. No price change or anything.
2. Replace Nintendo Land in Premium bundle with option of one of four titles: New Super Mario Bros U, Sonic Lost World, Super Mario 3D World, Wii Fit U (White Premium).
3. Additionally, include a free download with the Premium bundle, up to a certain value.
4. Arrange a special deal with Activision whereby CoD:Ghosts for Wii U is discounted during 2013, so that it's cheap enough on the eShop for people to get it as their free download. Perhaps have the same deal for a few other major titles.

Basically, the goal is to appeal as broadly as possible, while upping value rather than dropping price. If they give the Wii U a price cut now, it risks being seen as a last-gen system by people. If they wait until 2014 to drop prices, it will look like aggressive competition in the current gen. By upping the value instead, it's seen as a great deal to get a current-gen game (note: "current-gen", here, refers to the Wii U, PS4, XBO - I don't mind if some continue to call it "next-gen" for the next five months, but I expect everyone to avoid doing what they did last gen, with the whole "let's still call PS3 and 360 'next-gen' even though it's been out for four years" stupidity).

Wii U's only real issue is it hasn't had any quality games since launch. Marketing the system now would be dumb because there is nothing to market.

A Price Cut would make sense around the end of October right before the Holiday season begins. Discontinue the basic and bring the deluxe down to $300. Nintendo will essentially be competing with themselves though as Pokemon will surely sell many 3DS systems this Holiday.

Either way, I see no reason to wait until 2014 because while the price isn't really a big problem it would still help if it was lower for the Holiday sales rush. Plus, if it is lowered this year, it will still be lowered once Mario Kart 8 arrives so why wait?

I agree with just about everythinf u said except cutting the price so close to the holidays. If ur going to do a price cut it makes most sense to either do it a few months before or after the holidays to either build up momentum going in to them or to sustain post holiday momentum. Doing it so close to the holidays doesnt make sense to me because retailers will do there own discounts/bundles regardless of an official cut ot not. I wouldnt be surprised to see the Basic down to $199 and the Deluxe with a game for $299 between Black Friday and Christmas.

I think they will either do a $50 cut in August to coincide with Pikmin 3 and the summer update, I know Pikmin isnt a big system pusher but from its release thru thr end of the year, theres an exclusive releasing every 2-3 weeks. If they dont cut it then, I think it will be a $100 cut in April to coincide with Mario Kart 8 to start off the fiscal year on a strong note. In either case I suspect they will phase out the Basic model.

They should create a stronger console that costs more than Wii-u. Have a lot of the new Nintentdo games work on the Wii u as to not give the loyalist a big f u. Its the best thing Nintendo could do to be honest. (compromise) M$ dropping the xbox and going on to the 360 did them more good than harm.

Not going to happen! Aielyn seems to have a better idea. The WiiU is powerful enough, it just needs to be used and mastered by 3rd party devs.

slash 100 bucks from the consoles price and make it drop to 199$ and 249$ along side sonic lost world, the 3d mario game, pikmin, W101 and WiiU fit releasing and you got yourself some pretty decent sales right there

Allow me to explain a bit more of my reasoning here, as I'm one of the people who believes Nintendo should wait.

There's only a few opportunities throughout the generation to have significant price cuts, and these are not only important because of the price itself, but also as a chance to create awareness for the platform. So I believe that timing is essential, and that this year is not the time for it, as the lineup overall is not strong enough to fully complement the price drop effect, nor there's much incentive to do it from the competition. And there's also the fact that the more time Nintendo has to reduce manufacturing costs, the better.

My idea would be to drop the price to $ 250 rather than just to $ 300, but doing it next year alongside Smash and Mario Kart, so to give the platform a more meaningful and lasting effect. Striking while the iron is hot, so to speak, with a combined effect within a small time frame to get the full attention of consumers.

If you drop the price now or for the holidays, then by this time next year the new price is old news, and another $ 50 price cut then wouldn't be as significant as the first one. And Microsoft and Sony will definitely be more agressive next year in terms of pricing and bundles as more of their key releases appear, so the competition will be much stronger then.

Well, just my opinion, of course. Let's see what Nintendo does... Hoping for the best here !

None of the above. I think a 200$ price point will make it on par with the newer generation in terms of value. You can't even sell a deluxe set on ebay for 250$

I think u made that up, ive looked on ebay for a Wii U a few times aand they usually go for close to retail price. Wii U is a good value at $299 when it has a steady stream of quality exclusives.

A 32 GB Wii U w/installed Nintendo Land at $299 is a great value that would most definitely increase system sales. If they kept the basic and sold it for $249, it would cater to the casuals along with people looking to the Wii U as a second system for Nintendo 1st party and 3rd party exclusives like 101 and Bayo 2.
