I'm thankful that I was a part of this gen after the slim came out. It had its ups and downs but the ups outmaneuvers the downs and all I can say is I'm happy with my purchase. My only grievance was the lack of JRPGs so early this gen(probably the reason why I hold off before buying a PS3 and I'm hoping the next gen changes for the better. After all, everyone wants variety.
